I play Madden on All-Pro and I have some BIG problems. Here are some stats from a 15 minute per quarter game. Griese-12/40 for 100 yards 1 TD 4 INTS, Caddy-31 att for 59 yards 1 fumble. I got murdered 49 to 7. I need advice without putting the skill level down and using cheats.

The Griese stats sound pretty accurate.

Maybe try practicing a few plays that actaully work for you and try and use them randomly through the game cause I think a new feature on Madden is that D's key in on plays if you use them constantly. Try that for now and maybe it'll help you out.

Ok....while Madden is a tough game...there are certain things you can do to beat the opposition on all pro.
I'm sure you are using JG's Playbook with the cover 2 defensive playbook, If not make sure to change to it. When passing the ball, 6-10 yard deep curl routes are very effective, when you throw the ball use the passing feature that allows you to pick where the throw goes and always press up on the joystick, this will throw the ball higher so the reciever has to jump for it, but it helps cut down on the DB's jumping your routes, you will not get many yards after the catch but your passing game will be effective mixed with the run. Also try and get the ball to your TE's on short passes over the middle.
Running is the key to winning on Madden, first of all when running always use I-form, this way you always have a fullback blocking for you, some of the best plays are the runs that go just to the right of the center, don't try to cut these outside, just run behind your fullback and get what the defense will give you. One run play I like to use is out of I-form and is called FB fake HB toss, your QB will fake to the FB and toss it to the outside to you RB in the other direction, this play is either a hit our miss, because you dont have any blocker in front but if it works right the only guys laying a hand on you will be the DB's.
On defense don't blitz every play, but don't completely abandon them, make sure to just drop back into coverage every once and a while. If you find yourself in the redzone trying to prevent a TD for your opposition go to the 4-3 package and look until you find Cover 2 QB Spy, this is a good play when the recievers dont have much room to run their routes, sometimes though, there reciever will get wide open in the deep corner of the endzone, but this play will not allow anything over the middle.
Just try some of these plays and you should leave your opposition :urowned:

Learn how to use audibles. Pick your favorite formation and run all your audibles out of it or something similar. Kind of like the Colts of today.

Start simple. Just go into practice mode, and run plays over and over in there. You can set the field position where you want, and you don't have to worry about turnovers or downs. You can keep practicing one play, or go through your whole playbook.
To begin with, you can even practice on Offense Only mode, where there is no defense on the field. This can just give you some practice in learning the routes your receivers are going to run, so they become second-nature when you are in a game. Then you can focus more on what the defenders are doing if you already know when/where your receivers are going to run their routes.
With running, it is usually better to not use the sprint button as soon as you get the ball, because you will run into your line or FB before they get time to open lanes for you. So you let the holes open, then sprint through.

Just played a 5 minute per quarter game and beat the Dolphins 42-28. Here are some stats:Griese-17/28 for 248 yards 3 TD 4 INTs. Caddy-24 att for 143 yards 2 TD. Clayton-5 Rec for 84 yards. And for the Dolphins:Frerotte-12/27 for 263 yards 2 TD 2 INTs. Brown-12 att for 58 yards. McMichael-4 Rec for 88 yards 1 TD. I still have to work out the defense and stop throwing picks.

also if your special teams is lacking, go into "coaching strategy" select "depth charts" and switch Cox with Cadillac. That way you have a better chance in starting further down the field and find an affective running play that ALWAYS works. That is the way that i play. I win almost all the time. I just beat the Colts 53-0 with my running game and short passes for the 1st downs. If you have Xbox live my gamertag is patawt. I would love to play yah!

All-Pro?
The only advice I can give is that you should by an Atari!
All kidding aside, practice. Also, if you have to, adjust the AI of you and the CPU.

who ya talkin 2. if you play on xbox live ill take you on. i just got done playing offline against the dolphins. Cadillac had over 300 yards, and 3 tds. Griese had about 400 yards and and 3 touchdowns. the final score was 52-7. they scored in the last second. I intercepted the ball 6 times, 1 time was for a touchdown. The second the last punt they did, i recieved the ball on the 18 yard line. I had a 3rd down an 12 and i did a counter weak the left, but made it go to the right. I ran about 15 yard and made contact with the strong safety and did a spin move and got right out of it and ran ALL. THE. WAY!!! 82 yards and 7 points. heck yeah!! :urowned:

Don't use cheats to play a game because it takes all the fun out of it. I'd rather lose and learn to exploit the game rather than cheat and have an empty feeling.

is it just me, or is there an extreme difference between all-pro and all madden. its too easy on all-pro, and at times, too hard at all-madden.

the running game is key, most people who have problems with madden just try to throw the ball deep every time. you have to mix it up though. also you have to think of it from a coaching point of view .pay attention on sunday and mimic situations when you see them in real life. you can also set up a game but dont choose a team to play and then watch the computerto see how it reacts in certain situations. obviously if its 3rd and 15 you shouldnt be running the ball but pay attention to more subtle situations say 2nd and inches, you could go with a pass play to try to catch the d off guard and even if its incomplete you still have 3rd and short just dont get sacked or throw an interception. dont be afraid to get rid of the ball either its better to lose a down than to lose big yardage, you cant be to patient either dont launch the ball haphazardly into the arms of a waiting db just because the pressure is on; if you have a mobile qb then scramble and see if something opens up downfield. if you have some one like brian griese then step into the pocket and let the defense go by you then let er rip. if you are using the xbox (and you really shouldnt be using anything else) then dont forget about the right analog stick you can direct blockers when running and control the wide outs when passing. the bottom line is to practice, practice, practice and above all dont forget to have fun
