The Orlando-based affiliate of Electronic Arts Inc., a leading video-game maker, is developing a new NFL football game for release next spring, the company said Monday.

With the working title of NFL Head Coach, the new game will feature 3D graphics and easy-to-use controls, and will be aimed at both hard-core and casual fans, said Dale Jackson, executive producer at EA Tiburon, the company's Central Florida studio.

The new game will join two other football titles produced locally -- Madden NFL 2006 and NFL Street. The Madden NFL series, which has sold more than 42 million copies during the past 15 years, is being revised for release next month for use on the new Microsoft Xbox 360.

EA released few details Monday about NFL Head Coach, which will be available for the Sony PlayStation2, Microsoft Xbox and personal computers. The price was not announced.

The game will allow players to build and manage different aspects of a team, including developing and executing a team strategy on and off the field, Jackson said in a written statement.

NFL Head Coach is an outgrowth of EA's $300 million exclusive-rights contract with the National Football League, which the two parties signed about a year ago.

Not alot of details yet it looks like but sounds like an interesting game. Basically a more involved Madden Franchise mode minus the actual playing of a football game. The working game title right now is "NFL Head Coach." I'm not really into sim games, but I love NFL strategy and FO moves, the cap, and all that personnel stuff so I'll probably give it a look see.

Sounds pretty cool, especially for me. I'm thinking about pursuing a coaching career (I'm only 18, but it's ok to start young right? ;) )
I definately will give this game a shot to sharpen my coaching skills.

Reminds me of Total Control Football back in the day. I liked that game a lot. Though they did end up firing me. Something about embezilment or somthing. Having Barry Sanders, Steve Young, and Jerry Rice on the same team was awesome though. I even put Barry as a kick returner. :D
