View Full Version : Hasselbeck vs Warner

Have both players and both are playing weak defenses. Playoffs start this week and the person Im going up against has Shaun Alexander.
My thinking is that since Seattle is sitting players after getting big leads it would be better to play Warner, who will play the whole game.
If Alexander has a big game, then Hasselbeck probably won't and will sit if the score gets big. However if Hasselbeck does well chances are Shaun is doing less.
So am i right to think that starting Warner would be the best idea? If I sit Hasselbeck and he has a big game, at least I may not be hurt with alexander having a big day as well.
Or do I start Hasselbeck and hope for the best that Tennessee (who has given up 26 TD passes to Houston's 20) will give up the big passing touchdowns and focus on stopping Alexander.
Opinions anyone.... =)

I'ts weird because I am in the exact same boat (except my opponent is different), I too have Hasslebeck and Warner but I have decided to go with Hasselbeck. Houston can have "good" games where their defense does well, and I don't think Warner has a good enough receiver core to produce big numbers anyway.
Don't forget Jackson is back this week so I am sure they will want to send some balls his way, not to mention the tried and true Engram and Jurevicius...

I am forced to play jackson and engram this week (playoffs) but, I have drew bennett on the bench. So, I hope Hasselback plays well!

Well I wouldnt say that. With no running game this year, theyve been forced to throw throw throw. #1 pass offense in the league actually. And as far as the receiving core has gone... well..
Larry Fitzgerald: 1150yds and 7TDs
Anquan Boldin: 1100yds and 5TDs
I'd say that's pretty solid ;)

yeah they are solid, but not consistent. I have never really seen a high scoring game from the Cards, so that's why I say Hasselbeck and his receiver core are a better choice this week. It's almost seems once the Cards get ahead, they ride it out for the win, thus decreasing your chances for a 4TD game like Hasselbeck had last week :)

I freaking hate Hasselbeck. I benched Joe for Engram in 2 different leagues figuring since Engram starts and Joe will be a backup now that the other guy is back I had a better change with Engram scoring. Wouldn't you know Matt throws a TD to everyone except freaking Engram. Wonder if Engram owes him money? :D
