The Bucs rebounded from their opening-day loss with a dominating effort in Baltimore.

Most of your grades after the New Orleans game were in the C range for all three aspects of the Bucs' game. Now, how do you rate the offense, defense and special teams in the Baltimore game, and why?

Offense: B
They came to life today, but the ONLY thing that prevents them from getting an A is their inability to finish their long drives off with touchdowns. We'd be looking at a 40+ point shut out.

Defense: A-
Aside from a few bad plays and a lot of penalties, these guys did great. It was a shut out, after all. The minus is because the Ravens almost scored a TD at the end. And where's the turnovers? The defensive points were great, though.

Special Teams: A+
EXCELLENT. Don't see how they could do better.
Punt return TD. Blocked FG. Tupa punting VERY well. Automatica cashing in on everything he's asked to kick.

Overall: A- or B+
Just need to finish those drives off. Get Touchdowns, not field goals. Oh yah, and then do it against a good team, too.

Offense
B=I gave the offense a B because even though they did better than last week they weren't able to get any touchdowns.

Defense
A= THe defense definitely deserves an A because they were able to stop the Ravens from scoring and even got a touchdown. Ronde Barber I have to say did an awesome job of stoping the recievers from catching the balls.

Special Teams
A=Great punts and field goals.

All together I think the Bucs deserve an A- because they worked together to get the plays done offensively and deffensively. The minus was because they did good today, but even though they shut out the Ravens I think against a team like the Eagles they wouldn't have been able to do as well.

GO BUCS!

GOOD GAME

Offensive Line - Solid A: Nothing Spectacular today, they couldnt really get the rushing game going, but overall they got the Job done. Brad wasnt running for his life like he was last week. Cosey and Kenyatta stepped up and played well. 70+ yard drive only couldve been better if there was a TD at the end, but having that drive eat up 8 minutes of clock wore out the Ravens D

Quarterback - (A): Brad made all the right plays today, found the open receivers and threw some nice balls. Showed, that with quality blocking from the offensive line that he could be effective.

Runningback - (A-): Pittman looked great today, probably couldve gotten us an offensive TD if he didnt go out with cramps. Alstott couldnt quite get it going on the ground but had some nice catches.

Receivers - (A) : What more could you ask, they caught just about everything. Key and Keenan had great catches downfield to preserve drives. Again all you could ask for was a TD, but overall you have to like what you saw.

Offense Overall - Solid A: This wasnt the Ravens D that won the Super Bowl, so you take this with a grain of salt. They moved the ball well, especially that 70+ yd drive that ended in a FG. If we start out anywhere else other than the 6yd line, we probably score. Need to punch it in next week with the Rams comin to town

Defense

Defensive Line - (A) Pressuring Redman all day, forcing him to throw bad balls all game. Held Lewis in check all day and were blowing up plays throughout the game. 46 straight games with a sack and counting. Hey Sapp when the whistle blows, the play is over.

LBs - (A): Brooks return for INT, Singleton and Quarles making plays. Just another day in the life of the Buccaneer LBs. Faulk vs Brooks next week cant wait

DBs - (A-) Ronde Barber defending 5 passes, making blocks on special teams. All-Pro performance from Ronde. Brian Kelly needs to step it up, I still havent seen what makes him better than Donnie except for the $$$ factor. He needs to step up, or we might as well put Dwight Smith in. Couldnt hurt.

Overall - (A) Shutout, INT, Score, sacks, just another day. Big plays all over the field

Special Teams - (A) 3 FGs, Punt Ret. TD. 16 points, Karl Williams proves once again why he stays and Aaron Lockett went.

Remind you though the Bucs were playing a Ravens team with 19 rookies/Undrafted rookies. So you take this game as a great overall performance. But thats like saying the Panthers are goin to the Super Bowl after their performance over the Lions. This was a nice game, and now we must build on this. If we come out against the Rams and go back to N.O. style playing, then today was a waste

GO BUCS!!!

Offense: B+ We prolly could have done more damage if it wasnt for all those 3rd and long run plays... the offense was pretty impressive in controlling the clock and moving the ball downfield.

Defense: A+... Shutout.. NUFF SAID!

Special Teams: Man that Karl Williams can move.. and Ivy and Smith did great on punt coverage not to mention the blocked field goal by Ronde to end the half... What a player Ronde Barber is.. the more and more i see him.. the more impressed i am with him

Offense B, when will we ever score more than 9 Points on offense like Madden says.

Defense A Did you expect anything less? This team is still has the best defense in the league, has been for the last four years, no matter what anyone else claims, these guys get the job done even when the offense can only score field goals.

Special Teams A Can you imagine this franchise ever considering letting Karl Williams go. The guy is the best in the business.

Offense-C+.Had some very good drives but failed to convert anything into TD's

Defense-A+. Scored one of the 2 TD for the Bucs and was all over Redman and the Ravens offense.

Special Teams-A+. Scored the games first TD with a punt return, kepted the Ravens pinned deep in their own end for most of the game.

LETS GIVE THE O-LINE AN A, PROTECTION MUCH BETTER, DEFENSE GOT TO BE A+, REDMOND HAD NO TIME FOR ANYTHING, BACKS GET A HIGH B, BRAD GETS AN A+. OVERALL A MUCH BETTER PLAYED GAME. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE TOUCHDOWNS, BUT, ENJOYED SEEING OFFENSE MOVING UP AND DOWN FIELD, REALLY BELIEVE WERE SEEING THE BEGINNING OF A MUCH IMPROVED TEAM . CANT WAIT FOR MONDAY NIGHT AND STANK LOUIS.

I give them A's across the board! Great game, exactly what I would have expected with our talent and coaching (need to finish our drives...we did great marching the ball down the field but stalled in the red zone, settling for fieldgoals....)

Offense did a nice job of moving the ball - but scoring is the goal - and not just field goals - C+

Defense did very well, but not playing against an NFL caliber Offsense - B+

Special teams had a much better day than last week - A-

Wow. I'm going to have to disagree with that one.

You do realize, don't you, that the offense's three scoring drives lasted 7:21, 8:25, and 6:31 respectively?

Now, given, they all ended in field goals (which IS a bit disappointing) but think about how much time that eats off the clock. Put all three drives together, and that is a total of 40 plays. Three field goal drives averaging 13.33 plays a pop!

Well, the Ravens had 61 offensive plays the entire game, so that says something about our offensive performance. Those drives must have taken a huge toll on the Ravens defense.

Now I wouldn't go as far as to give the Bucs O an "A" grade, but a C anything is a little unfair. The running game wasn't there(outside of the first quarter), but the offense certainly showed that it's capable of sustaining some drives and getting the job done.

Brad Johnson and offense- B-, they did good holding onto the ball a long time but scoring is a problem, also i expected Keyshawn to have a great day against the raven secondary.

Defense- A, let up a little in the fourth but tightened up again once Brooks got the pick to keep it a shut out. Plus a safety.

Special Teams- A+, Block field goal, Punt return for TD, Tupa punting inside the ten, Gramatica still automatica, what else could be said.

Overall- B+, the only reason it wasn't an A was because i expected way more from Pittman and the running game, and the passing game could have used a touchdown.

not bad. much better showing, although the offense should have been able to score a touchdown or two, i was impressed by the raven defense (credit due). the offenseive line looked much better. i was not happy with the tons of penalties that were unnecessary (SAP-99, come on man, settle down-15yds), but hey, we played much better and i feel good about next weeks game. keep it up!:) DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE!!!!! GOOD JOB BARBER!!!!!

Offense-(B)- Did a good job controlling the ball, but had no finish. Would have liked to see a better running game, but was very happy to see the O-line have a good game against a pretty decent 3-4 defense.

Defense-(A-)- Hard to give a worse grade than this when they pitch a shutout although it's not overly impressive given the Ravens offense is pretty anemic to say the least.

Special Teams-(A)- Very disappointed in special teams last week, but they put in a great performance all-around this week. Karl Williams was great, of course, and Tupa punted significantly better.

Go Tampa!

O-Line- 100% better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Offense - b (moved the ball great, but no TD's)
Defense - a (ronde barber, derek brooks AWESOME GAME)
Special Teams - a (great pressure, love the block to keep it a shut out, the TRUTH Williams, great punt return)

I think that we will see a grade A performance against the Rams, its on now... Bucs all the way baby!!!!!!

I agree 100% - especially needing to remember this was a very young Ravens team. Let's savor this victory and then step it up a notch for the Rams and make them 0-3 to start the season!

I guess that late Saturday talk from Coach Gruden did the job, especially on Defense.
Offense Gets a B+, mostly due to the improved O-Line. ( Maybe now KW will learn to watch what he says to the media! )
Defense Gets an A-Good job on pressure and what more can be said about R. Barber. Lynch's Run stop at the line of scrimmage was shades of the old John Lynch.
Special Teams A+
Still not sold on West Coast Offense. Maybe time will tell. I sure hope so because as great as the rest of the team played we cannot expect this type of game every time.
Can't wait till Monday Night and see if can continue our control of the high-powered St Louis Offense, which seems to be taking a while to get started this year.
2-1 would sure beat 1-2 to start off the season.
We need to get revenge on the saints!!!

Brad: A- Brad had a great day, not throwing an interception for the second game in a row. He didn't make a touchdown pass, but he kept his percentage up and completed passes to many different recievers.

Rushing: C Pittman and Astott didn't rack up that many yards and their averages were very low. No touchdowns. Stecker did a decent job at replacing Pittman for the short time.

Recieving: B+ Keyshawn, McCardell and Jerevicous all did a great job and their routes and catching the ball. Barely any drops. The backs had many catches including Pittman leading in receptions. Again no touchdowns.

O-Line: B- The Offensive line did so much better this game. Brad barely got touched and was only hurried about 7 times. They improved alot on the pass protection. But on the rushing, they didn't help Mike and Mike with their average. Having Cosey Coleman back was a big help.

Overall Offense: B- The offense did a great job at controlling the clock. The passing game was up while the rushing was not at it's best, no touchdowns were scored for the offense but they did get close enough for Martin to nail 3 field goals.

D-Line: B+ The D-Line did a great job at stopping the run and putting pressure on the quarter back. But with two probowl players in Sapp and Rice. They should have gotten to the QB more than they did.

Linebackers: A- The linebackers were everywhere and did a great job wether it was blitzing or coverage and picking up interceptions.

CB's: A- The corner had a great game deflecting many passes and tight coverage. Dropping many interceptions though.

Safety's: A- The same thing with the safety's as the CB's. Lynch and Dexter did a great job at letting nothing by them.

Overall Defense: A- Great job at coverage, pressure and they didnt get scored on once. They dropped many interceptions and some of them could have been returned for touchdowns. They needed to get to the QB more but a great day none the less.

Martin: A+ Martin was the offensive player of the game in my eyes. Hitting 3 FG's and tapping in 2 PAT's.

Tom: A Tom had many long punts, great job.

Karl: A+ Karl had some great returns including a punt return for a touchdown.

Overall Special Teams: A+ Special teams racked up the points MVP awards to them.

Play calling and coaching: B+ Gruden and his team did an excellent job at picking plays but didn't run the right plays on third downs.

Overall Game: A- Great coaching and play calling but third down tries were messed up. Passing, blocking and defense was great. Special teams won the game.

Offensive MVP: Brad Johnson
Defensive MVP: Derrick Brooks
Special teams MVP: Martin Gramatica

GOOD GAME

Close to what I would have put. Corners couldn't have done a better job. They get a solid A. If Ronde would have picked one off, then they get the A+. Linebackers also get an A. 55 yds rushing aint bad, Al knocked down some passes. Quarles was pretty good, didnt make any mistakes. Brooks was a BEAST in there. His ankle obviously isnt hurting too bad. 96 yds was it? And he earned all 96 of 'em.

WELL THE O-LINE DID A MUCH BETTER JOB OF PASS PROTECTION FOR BRAD J. THE WR'S HELD ON TO TO THE BALLS AND RB'S DID OK ALSO. BUT THERE IS JUST ONE LITTLE THING WE DIDN'T DO,SCORE TD'S!!!!! OFFENSE GRADE IS C+. SORRY THATS THE BEST I CAN DO UNTIL WE SHOW A TREND OF GETTING THE BALL IN THE ENDZONE.

DEFENSE DID A GOOD JOB, GOOD NOT GREAT. WE SHOULD HAVE PICKED OFF A COUPLE OF THOSE BALLS BUT THATS OKAY. D-LINE GOT SOME SACKS I REALLY LIKE THAT. OVERALL THIS GROUP GRADE IS B.

SPECIAL TEAMS GETS AN A. GREAT JOB ON PUNT RETURN AND OUR PLACE KICKER.

NOW I THINK WE HAVE SOMETHING TO BUILD ON FOR THE RAMS GAME. WE HAVE TO BE READY TO ATTACK,ATTACK,AND ATTACK. THIS ONE WILL BE A BIG BIG WIN!!!!! GO BUCS!!!!!

OFFENSE: B - looked much better moving the ball with control...we just need to start putting it in the ENDZONE!!!!

DEFENSE: A+ - it's the BUCS "D".....enough said!!!!

SPECIAL TEAMS: A - improved dramatically since last week....THE TRUTH.....needs to learn a celebration dance because I think we will be seeing him "TAKING IT TO THE HOUSE" often this year!!

GRUDEN: A+++++++.....I don't care what anyone says he is..... DA MAN!!!!!!!!
