IS THE ROSE BOWL ALWAYS THE GAME BETWEEN THE #1 AND #2 TEAMS THAT PLAY FOR THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP? because this year it was usc and texas and they were #1 and #2 respectively.. last yr it was #1 Oklahoma and #2 USC, and the year before tha oklahoma and lsu went at it for the nationalchampionship, but i read now that these games were not the ROSE BOWL, but rather the sugar or the fiesta bowl

The National Championship game rotates between the ones you listed. I am not sure the order but next year the National Championship will not be in the Rose Bowl.

There's 4 major bowl games...Rose, Sugar, Orange, Fiesta..Every year the #1 vs #2 game alternates at each of these sites..

This year it was the RB, last year it was the OB, the year before that it was the SB...Next year it's at the FB...

The Rose Bowl next year will be the Pac-10 champ vs Big 10 champ, unless one or both of them are in the Fiesta Bowl playing for the title. Then the Rose Bowl gets first choice of at-large teams that qualify for a BCS game...However, next year they're adding an additional BCS game..So there will now be 4 BCS bowls and 1 BCS title game...Rose, Sugar, Orange, Fiesta will all hold bowl games...Then #1 and #2 will play in the Fiesta Bowl after that...So the number of BCS qualifiers goes from 8 to 10 teams.

Yeah, and the 5th game isn't going to be called "____ Bowl" like we're used to, it'll be simply "BCS Championship Game" or something. I'm sure the media will be calling like the "Fiesta Bowl II" or something silly. It's supposed to be one week after Jan. 1st, which will place it on a Monday night next season.

Not sure why they couldn't just upgrade the Cotton Bowl or the Capital One Bowl to BCS level, instead of having two games in the same stadium, but I guess money talks.

The Rose Bowl has always been, and always will be, the 'Granddaddy of them All'.
