So let's see where we stand as far as depth goes for every position the guys who COULD be let go (or retire)in the offseason are in bold. And the guys who might need to be replaced soon are in Italics:
QB: Chris Simms, Brian Griese, Luke McCown, Tim Rattay
RB: Carnell Williams, Michael Pittman, Earnest Graham, Derek Watson
FB: Mike Alstott, Jameel ook, Rick Razzano
WR: Joey Galloway, Ike Hilliard, Mark Jones
WR: Michael Clayton, Edell Shepard
TE: Alex Smith, Anthony Becht, Will Heller
LT: Anthony Davis, Todd Steussie
LG: Dan Buenning, Scott Jackson
C: John Wade, Sean Mahan
RG: Sean Mahan, Jeb Terry
RT: Kenyatta Walker, Chris Colmer
LE: Greg Spires, Dewayne White
DT: Chris Hovan, Jon Bradley, Anthony Bryant
DT: Anthony McFarland, Ellis Wyms
RE: Simeon Rice, Dewayne White
SLB: Ryan Nece, Marquis Cooper, Wesly Mallard
MLB: Shelton Quarles, Barrett Ruud
WLB: Derrick Brooks, Ryan Nece, Wesly Mallard
LCB: Brian Kelly, Torrie Cox
RCB: Ronde Barber, Juran Bolden, Blue Adams
SS: Jermaine Phillips, Donte Nicholson, Kalvin Pearson
FS: Dexter Jackson, Will Allen
So IYO looking at the players in bold who COULD leave and the positions we know need to be upgraded (O-Line). What is the best route to take in the draft to make it worthwhile?

Offensive Tackle. I'd but awesome to see Marcus McNiel to slip to us at 23. With all of the talent this year at that position with Ferguson, Scott, Winston, Whitworth, Justice, Morris etc... that could happen.
Depth is sorely needed at cornerback and linebacker IMO.

Agreed...unless they make a trade to move up in the first I think it will go something like this:
1st-OT
2nd-LB or DE
3rd-DT or CB
4th-WR
5th-TE (blocking)
7th-BPA
It's hard to predict which positions will be picked in each round bc they will go by BPA most likely

I thought McNeil was a very good pass blocker but a decent run blocker, if you ask me we already have that in Davis, I would rather go after a more complete Tackle.

I'm more worried about run blocking than pass blocking so whoever we get should be a beast at opening lanes for the caddy.

Davis is a better at pass blocking than run blocking??? Davis is the biggest guy on our o-line, thats why we ran behind him and Buenning all season because they are our best run blockers.
But Davis sucks at pass blocking, he is too over weight to keep up with speed rushers... or when he see's a man blitzing he can't get a block on him in time because he's just not quick enough.
LOL, you have it all wrong... McNeil is a bad pass blocker and good run blocker... I sure hope you switched them by accident...

I typied before I thought, I ment to Davis is a good run blocker, but not a good pass blocker, same way for McNeil.

Didnt McNeil give up zero sacks in four years? How is that a bad pass blocker?
Also he could be a Roaf type run blocker and that would be a start to giving caddy Priest/Larry like blocking.

It also doesn't hurt that he opened lanes for cadillac when he was at Auburn so they are already familar with each other.

Not sure where Maurice Drew is slated to drop, but I'd love to have him if we lose Pitt

Really it all depends on what Gruden/Allen have planned in terms of direction for this team

Depending on what's available at our slot, I'd like to take D'Qwell Jackson LB, Maryland in the second, but if he ain't available, I say we pick up Will Witherspoon from the pansies, he's young and very talented. Then, if Brooks decides to take a paycut, Will can play the SLB in front of Nece for a while till Brooks is gone. Nece has had a solid season, but he's nothing to call home about.

It was amazing how inconsistant they were. You'd see Green with 7 catches for 164 yards and a touchdown one week, then shutdown the next. As for Reidel, well, he was consistantly bad. :D Atleast for a top 15 draft choice.
