There's onlt a few i think that will be worth a first round pick, McNeil, Scott, Justice, and Carpenter (in that order)are the only ones i can consider us taking in the first round. try this site, it's one of my favorites www.nflfans.com

I saw one mock that had a OT from
Miami as the Bucs' pick in first round.
Eric Winston, LT, 6-7, 312
I don't know much about him, but he is
projected to go middle of first round.

ohh yeah i forgot to add him on there, he seems to be the one that we will take the most bc he is supposed to be the best available at that point

I worry about Eric's knee injury, he didnt look as dominant as he didnt before it.

yea im not sold on him either I hope either Winston Justice, Marcus Mcneill, or Johnathan Scott falls to us. If not they should go for BPA hopefully either a LB or D Lineman.

Kiper had us taking WR Derek Hagans from ASU

Hagans is a good player but I don't feel WR is a position of need for us. The only reason he has us taking him is because Galloway has never been able to stay healthy and hes only got a year or two left anyway. The way I see it is if galloway did go down we have enough young talent to cover up for his loss. Especially if we draft a Tackle who is opening lanes for caddy then that alone will open up the passing lanes.

If Max Jean-Gilles is still around he'd be awesome. They'll probably pick up some late rounders for O-line too, and there are probably some good ones out there...Kyle Ralph OG UNC!

I actually like Gilles, but OG isnt a very pressing need for us. Unless they think they can convert him to tackle.

they are saying that he could play either position at the pro level

I would like to know, how you guys feel about Ernie Sims. I'm not from the US of A so I can not watch a lot of college football, but I heard that this kid is a monster. Is it possible that the Bucs will select him in the second round? Because they need some depth at LB.

If he is still available for our pick in the second round the bucs would be nuts to not take him. As far as ability he is alot like D. Brooks IMO. A little smaller than the prototypical linebacker but fast, sure tackling, with good ball skills. He would be the the guy who takes over for Brooks once he is ready to go and there probably wouldn't be too much drop off in production.

The thing about Ernie is, he is soooooooooo freakin fast sometimes I wonder if he'll end up becoming a Saftey.

I think Sims is about 220, if he gains about 10 pounds he'll be fine. I'd love to have him on the Bucs.

Here's a name I haven't heard too much about regarding 1st round grade or even mentioned with the Bucs...Oklahoma guard Davin Joseph.
I hadn't really heard about him or the Bucs apparent interest until I read this Trib article...http://bucs.tbo.com/bucs/MGBCJ8RHWIE.html
Now of course at the SB coaches and scouts normally comment positively to the press about players (remember the wild speculation when half the Bucs staff attended Mike Williams' pro day last year?) so I don't take this as anything more than the scouting it it.
He seems like an intersting player and it seems is regarded as the #2 guard in the draft at the guard position but there may be better options at #23 but even that is hard to contimplate at this point.
Here's his draft profile...http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/og/davinjoseph.html

I'd like to be able to get Ernie in the 2nd round, but I doubt he'll be around still. I would like to mention that the other OLB from FSU isn't too shabby himself. A.J. Nicholson really played well this year. He will probably still be available by the time our 2nd rounder comes. He doesn't quite have the speed of Sims, but he is still fast. He is really good in pass coverage. Good hands for an LB. Soild tackler. Sheds blocks well. I think he is worth a look if he is still there.

The only thing with him is the off-field problems, but if he can clean his act up he would be a great addition.

To update you on your list as of the day of the Senior Bowl.....
Wroten is a possibility at DT, will depend on the combine
Scott is a definite no w/ the first pick, he has now slipped to 3rd round...
Simms is a solid 2nd round pick now...great possibility we get him there if he falls...
Justice definitely will be gone by pick 23....
DT Mahelona will probably fall but may get back in 1st round through combine.....
Jean-Gills will be an early 2nd rounder so no there....
Thomas is an early to mid 2nd rounder too, so we could get him but not in round 1....
McNeil is the ONLY selection in that group that will go to us in round 1...

On the news they were saying the Bucs were impressed by FSU DT Brodrick Bunkley..

I read somewhere that Greg Blue (S, Georgia) was being looked at as a WLB by teams who like undersized, faster players at that position (the writer mentioned the Bucs). I have seen him graded 2nd/3rd round. Anyone know more about him? Would he be an improvement over Nece/Cooper?

Agreed. Non-Buc fans are forgetting about Clayton, and think Galloway will be gone in no more than 2 seasons.
With every passing moment I'm liking a potential McNeil pick for us. It just does so much. Hopefully this will be the year we solve all our o-line problems. We have my man Buenning at LG, and so now we need to fix up a few other positions on the line and we should be fine.

search on espn.com but the reason ernie sims is going to the draft is becuase he's had 3-4 concussions at FSU and he wants to help out is family and didn't want to get hurt next yr w/ more concussions and not be able to play in the nfl so i'd be sacred if we picked sims casue of his health
