I took a TON of photos and even some video from my digital camera I'll have to upload later when I get time. I went wanting to watch mostly Cutler, Ferguson and Greenway since everyone keeps mentioning them. A few things I noticed today watching them:
1) Jay Cutler looks like the real deal. If things didn't work out with Simms, I'd love to see him in TB. Out of Charlie Whitehurst and Robinson from PSU; Cutler definitely looked the best. The guy's arm looked great on all of his throws, though his accuracy was a little off like the other QBs. I think it had more to do with timing with the WRs. One thing I did notice-I've never seen so many dropped passes in my life! There wasn't one WR I saw who caught even 80% of passes that were "catchable".
2) Chad Greenway-He looked very quick. Though he had a tough time getting one of the drills down, for the most part his footwork looked better than anyone at that position. I was standing next to an eagles scout and saw his grade sheet. He said he needed to watch Greenway more as he was unsure of his "toughness and ability to be physical".
3) Ferguson, aka Da Brick-Looked great today. Saw him throw more than one guy to the ground, but I heard a few scouts wondering about his weight.
4) Where in the heck were the TB scouts? Two days in a row I've been out there and I've seen scouts from almost every team, usually in groups of 4-5. In two days, I saw one TB scout outside during practice smoking a cigarette and one today who actually looked like he was working. Other than that, I was the only one out there in "Bucs" gear I saw and I didn't see TB Bucs on any yellow name tags either.
5) Coach Fisher-I watched Nolan and Turner run practice yesterday and it was alright. Watching Coach Fisher during practice, it's evident the players really respond well to him. When he spoke (not yelled); things happened quickly and guys "got it right".
6) Watch out for the North if they have a long FG try. They had Cutler holding and they practiced a fake FG where he rolls out right and has 3 players "looping" right with him all at different "levels". Sadly, the play didn't work today and was almost picked.
I'll add more tomorrow and pics to come later this week.

I tried to take a pic of his "report card" but didn't have any luck. I didn't want to **** off any scouts, a number of these guys look like thugs.
I hate to say it, the team I see the most scouts from is the Falcons. They are all over the place.

Are the practices open to the public?
I thought last year they said they were closed to only NFL personal.

No, they are open to everyone and are FREE! It's an awesome deal. My office is literally three blocks away so I've been taking my lunch to Ladd Peebles to watch the practices. You can tell who's with the NFL and who's a fan. The NFL guys are wearing yellow hang tags and often are wearing a ton of gear and are on their phones quite a bit.
You can walk right up to the fence and stand 10 feet off the field and watch the practice. I actually almost got run over after a WR and DB came crashing out of bounds going after a pass. The DB ended up in the hedge and was stuck right in front of me. I got a pretty good pic from 2 feet away I'll post this weekend along with all of the other pics I got this week.
I even used my digital camera to take some quick video of Cutler and Whitehurst running a few passing drills. Whitehurst has the better footwork, but I like Cutler's arm.

Back from practice once again. A few notes:
1) Brodie Croyle looked pretty good. Out of all the QBs from the South squad, he was the most accurate on the deep ball drill. Just looking at him, it would be hard to tell he's had so many injuries. He might be a steal for someone.
2) Andre Hall-really watched him close today being a USF alumn. We all know he runs tough, reads the hole pretty well and can break big plays, but this guy was making some great catches out of the back field without losing a step. He looked just as good as the other South backs in the drills, but I have no idea where he's going to be drafted as I don't think many know who he is.
3) Watched a field vision drill REAL CLOSE with Demico Ryans, #8 from AL (Roach?) along with a guy from UCLA and others. Ryans looked pretty good and got kudos from the coach, but #8 couldn't get it right.
4) They are using Moss from Miami ALOT on reverses and in the slot. He's short, but he can catch.
5) Pat Wadkins, the DB from FSU looked good again today as he broke up a few passes in the red zone drill. Each day this guy has been making plays. Could he be another DB out of FSU who was so so in college and then becomes a stud in the NFL like Samari Rolle?
6) Winston from Miami looked good during his drills, but so did all of the other guys. Looks like a decent crop of OL guys this year between the two squads. Hopefully we get one of them.
Other than that, just a fun practice to watch and boy did the women come out to watch today! Think they might be trying to snag their retirement this week?

I'm going to upload the better ones as soon as I get a chance. My wife's grandfather passed away last night after being in critical condition all week. So though I can post at work, I'd have to upload the photos at home and things at home have been rough this week. I had planned on uploading them this weekend, but with the funeral being out of town; I don't know if I'll have time. They'll be on here eventually though and I got some interesting ones.

Maybe you aren't real familiar with FSU but Samari Rolle was a great college player, and i do believe Watkins was a lot better than just so so. He honestly was the only star in the dbs this year. He is a very good player and should prove to be a good NFL player as well. I wish we would grab him in the draft because i think he has better skills than Jermaine, Dexter, and Allen. I realize that is not a position of need for us but its a wish on my end. As far as Hall goes i believe he could be a 3-4th round draft pick. The guy has a lot of talent, although this years draft isn't one that a ton of teams are looking for running backs so who knows where he'll really go

I'm familiar with FSU. Both my parents graduated from there and my brother is in their medschool so I've been to many a game (especially the Miami games). What I was saying, wasn't that Rolle and others weren't great in college, what i'm saying is the DBs from FSU always seem to be much better in the NFL than they were in college (outside of Deion). That's why I think Watkins could be a great pick for us for the same reasons I think you do.
I've been watching him at practice (IN PERSON) alot as FSU is my favorite team to watch in college football outside of USF. Which brings me to think, I am surprised Leon Washington wasn't invited to this. I think you'll see Lorenzo Booker her next year though.
As for Hall-I agree he'll be a later draft pick as well; for this reason I think he'll be a good "deal" as he could definitely be a sleeper. He had some impressive games at USF running behind a line which usually was much smaller than the DLs they were facing and he still got the job done. He can catch and he's durable. Imagine if he had been on a team where they weren't one dimensional. USF couldn't throw the ball to save their lives and he was their ONLY offense.

How did Tye Hill look?
Don't remember anything jumping out regarding that name this week. Everyone here in Mobile is good; but I only seem to remember the guys who I saw do something "unique" or was constantly making plays or brought to my attention by a scout or two standing by me on the fence. When I post my pics later, maybe I'll see him in there and something will jump out at me.

Well watching them on TV, Tye Hill has looked great, he locked himself into the first round.

I agree Hill has looked pretty good in the game. Some disappointments tho have been Hagans, Bunkley, Cutler. Cutler was like 3 of 8 with an interception. Hagans keeps dropping the ball, and Bunkley is getting zero pressure. I find it funny that Hagans was picked by kiper to be our first rounder but then he puts on his analysis of the SB rosters that he is a 3round pick. This does seem like typical Bunkley tho(yes i'm a huge FSU fan), he plays big against lesser teams and then disappears in big games. He is too small to be a DT in the NFL, i believe he'll end up being a DE. Maybe Cutler just had a bad game, but you expect to see more from a guy that is considered to be a top 10 pick. Croyle looked better than Cutler.

I know, I know! I'm going to post them Saturday. I can get away with posting like this at work, but not hooking up my digital camera and uploading a number of pics! I would've done it this weekend, but we had a funeral as my wife's grandfather passed away. Our 3rd grandparent in 3 months.
But don't worry, I'll get them on here.
ThanksBrad

Sorry man! I know I've been slacking. Totally forgot about this. My wife is set to be induced for labor this Monday. So things have been crazy. They are coming. What I may do is just start uploading a few a day. I had so many; I was thinking i needed to set aside a few hours to tackle it, but maybe a few a day until the draft will do.
I'll post a few late tonight to get things started...
pictures??
dont you get it? HE DOESNT HAVE PICTURES. everyone just needs to leave him alone, he's dealing with some family issues right now.

No, I have them. But it's a royal pain to post pics on here as you have to go get them off the camera, then put them in photobucket, then copy the link in here. I haven't had that kind of time with the traveling I've been doing and getting ready for a child to be born soon. So things like painting the nursery; putting together cribs, making travel arrangements for out of town family etc comes before posting pics of Senior Bowl practice.
But I did promise I'll have them on here and I will.
