I think we can all agree that the best thing the Bucs could do to prepare for this upcoming season would be to fix up this offensive line. Many of us have been saying this for a year or two now and were all tired of hearing it. I liked the addition of Dan Buenning, he added some power to the left side of our line but Anthony Davis let me down. Im not saying to get rid of this guy, I think another season or two and he'll be a solid Tackle. So what do you guys think about Marcus McNeill? At 6 foot 9 and 340 pounds he's guarenteed to add some power to our line. I read his scouting report and it said great size, great strength, and great wingspan but his footwork is lacking. I think we go get this guy and let him gel with the rest of our lin"man.

Just Picture this line: LT- Anthony Davis - 6' 4" 329 lbs
LG- Dan Buenning - 6' 4" 320 lbs
C- John Wade - 6'5" 299 lbs
RG- Sean Mahan - 6'3" 300 lbs
RT - Marcus McNeill - 6'9" 340 lbs

Face it the bucs FAMOUS rosters is pretty gone

- J.lynch W.sapp W.dunn K.johnson W.smith are all gone

derrick brooks ,ronde barber ,shelton quarles ,simeon rice (your old good players)

the only way the bucs have a chance of existence in the upcoming nfl seasons is if chris simms so called (one hit wonder) season actually continues and if injury prone caddy and michael clayton can actually stay healthy

and i doubt you`ll even get far then
simms(sorry)
Clayton(average)
the only good players that won`t be retiring in the next 2-4 or 5 years in caddy(i gotta give im props)

Great players come and go. Every player that is gone from this team that you mentioned were at the exact same stage as what a Michael Clayton or Chris Simms is in currently.

Do you really think the great players start out great? No Lynch had to wait out his first three seasons to show his stuff. Sapp didn't really come into his own until his third year. We've replaced Warrick and Keyshawn who were/are very good players right now. We also won 11 games without Dwight Smith (he meant D. smith, not W. smith).

"One hit wonder"
"Injury prone"

Sounds more like Steve Smith.

Simms is great, you're just a homer. He had an amazing season with 1 good receiver and a terrible o-line.

Clayton average? :rotf:.. he had a bad season due to a lot of surgery, he's a great player... Average describes Chris Gamble better.

Funny, that you ignored the remainder of our defense, Smith, Cadillac and the o-line we're building on.

But that's fine, stay a homer.

K, back to the original topic, i would like to see us grab a OT in the first, unless there's an absolute playmaker that we can get w/ our pick. But I would like to see Mahan be moved to Center permanently, and have Davis move to RG. I 've been doin sum research and i really like the LT from Boise St., he's 6'5'' 298. And plays with a mean streak, and we could maybe get him in the second if we traded up. And then we could use our first to get a player on D.

Psykes, did you read my mind when I read this?

Mike Clayton- C is average, he's a B type receiver. (A is like Chad Johnson, TO, Torry Holt)

Simms- nothin wrong with this year.

As my older brother (who is a panthers fan) said to me after we lost to Washington in the Wildcard, "better luck next year."

Next year when Simms can see what he did right and wrong. Cadillac is stronger, Smith is a B type TE, O-line is revamped. Youth talent fills in when we have to cut the high paid vets. Clayton catches 70 balls.

Next year when you don't have a runningback, Your DB's still can't cover. Next year, when Steve Smith turns into TO. Next year when Delhomme gets hurt and Winkie steps in.

Yup. I pretty much agree here. I would say that Clayton is in the B+ to A- range for receiver, but the rest is true.

Alex Smith is the next L.J. Smith IMO. Simms is the best new young QB, Galloway is still playing well, Caddy and the o-line are only going to get better and our defense is still very much in tact.

This year was suppose to be the Panthers year, they were the picks to win the SB and all that stuff, but next year is our year.

I think its about time we put out some big guys on o-line. If Davis can make a smooth transition to guard, then fine leave him. He has pretty good size there, 6'4, 322.

I'd love to have McNeil at start him at RT. 6'9, 339, gives us basically two excellent guys to run behind on 3rd and short (the other being Buenning). McNeil would also allow us to release Smith and Becht more often.

Now that I think about it, the tandum of McNeil and Davis on the right side, makes for a pretty nice place to run behind.

I agree with center, Mahan or Wade, either will do, doesn't make much of a difference.
