I for one, am waiting so patiently on the release of the very first MMOFPS. (thats MAssively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter) heres a nice quote from IGN.com.
"Huxley is a massively multiplayer online first person shooting game utilizing the UNREAL3 engine to create a world of up to 5,000 players in the same gaming environment. Huxley takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where human beings have mutated and are divided into two opposing races, Sapiens and Alternative. At the center of the battle for survival is Lunarites, a promising new energy source highly coveted by both races. Forced to battle against one another for the continuance of each race, Sapiens and Alternatives will do whatever it takes to wipe out the opposition and gain control of the world and its resources. The game also has an RPG element to it, where your character will continue to grow and get new skills. Here, you will find a great article, with the producer of Huxley. Link. (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/huxley/news.html?sid=6147499)

GS: "How will combat be handled? Will it feel a bit like an online shooter like Battlefield 2 that rewards fast reflexes? Or will the game offer a more-abstract system that takes into account more traditional role-playing abilities, such as determining whether your shots hit a target based on your character's level, weapon skill, and so on?"

KK:"Combat in Huxley will be based on the hyper-fast action found in first-person shooters like Unreal. Huxley will be a game where player skill matters. The game will take into account a player's character growth, but not to the extent of your question. Between levels, the intent is not to increase their strength and striking power but rather to increase the kinds of weapons and skills a player can use."

I have waited patiently for too long, it's time to start talking about this game. What do you all think, are you planning to be one of the first in, such as myself? I think this will prove to be one of my most played games next year.

You've obviously not heard of Planetside. :p That's ok, though.

Yeah, Huxley does look good. I'm a huge fan of FPS games, and, though I never really got into Planetside, I've often wondered how they'd work in a MMO setting. This game looks to define the genre, and I can't wait. :)

I was just chiming in to say that.... By the way, Planetside is free now (you pay to go beyond certain levels, but you really don't need those levels at all to compete), so you don't have to wait at all to try a game like this out.

My take: Tons of fun in the beginning, but it grows old very quickly.
