View Full Version : Which Fantasy Players Do You Wish You Started?

So, week one is almost over, and I'm sure many people have players on their bench out performing their starters. I know I did. I've got two players left for the Monday Night games (LaDainian Tomlinson and Chris Cooley), but if I'd made some better decisions, I could have blown out the team I'm playing instead of being down by two points.

Here's what I would have changed in hindsight:
McNair (7 points) starting over Hasselbeck (5 points)
Michael Jenkins (13 points) starting over Chad Johnson (5 points)
Fred Taylor (17 points) starting over Mike Bell (14 points) -- Depends on how LT plays Monday Night.
Jacksonville's Defense (9 points) starting over Tampa Bay's Defense (1 point)

Could have been worse. One of the guys in my league has Frank Gore on the bench, and he racked up 26 points.

Both on the same team.
Frank Gore(18 pts) over Deuce McAllister(2 pts) I figured deuce woulda had 1TD at least and the 49ers would be down by too much to run.
Baltimore(25pts) over Tampa(1 pt) ...

Im still winning for the week because the guy im playing had Palmer Galloway and Kennison all with 0pts.

Ouch.

The only reason I'm behind two points with two players left (he has no players left) is that Carson Palmer got him 0 points and he was using backups running backs he got from free agency. (He drafted Domanick Davis and Clinton Portis.)

I had a great week, started Warner, Gore, and Chicago D/ST.

Kellen Winslow, i had him on my bench for week 1 because I really wanted to see how good he'd do before I played him. And then he comes out and did way better than my TE

I won by about 100 points but it could have been more if I started london fletcher...
9 tackles 1 assist TD

The only move I regret not making is starting Roy Williams over Moose.

It's no big deal though. I made some really good decisions which helped me get high points for the week (earning me 25 bucks). I started Frank Gore over Willis McGahee and Charlie Frye over Brett Favre.

Pretty satisfied with my decisions this week.

Brees over Delhomme
Steven Jackson over Chris Brown (went with the better matchup here)
any TE over McMichael

But I also had a few gambles that paid off big, like picking up Gore in one league and starting him over Dunn, or starting Stallworth, so I won't complain.

start Frye over Favre EVERY week

I also have McNair on my roster. Since my league does not punish players for fumbles/interceptions, I figured I could get away with a QB-by-committee system as long as I had really good depth at my other positions. At RB I have Ronnie Brown, McGahee, Gore, and M. Barber. At WR I have Hines Ward, Roy Williams, Andre Johnson, and Mushin. So when it comes to the QB position, I choose the best matchup each week. Maybe when the Packers host the Lions I'll start Favre, but more often than not I'll use McNair, Frye, and then Favre, in that order.

I started McMichael over davis. Davis had 9 points, McMichael, 1. doesn't seem like much, but im only winning by 13 and I have redskins defense left and he has 3 starters, a rb, wr and te left....

Team One

I started B. Dawkins over Ronde. Ronde had 16.5 points and Dawkins only had 3. That was a last minute change too. Unless Donnie Edwards has a big night, I lost.

On my other three teams, I didn't start J. Wilkins (Kicker from the Rams) on any team.

In the last moments, I decided to start McGahee over Cadillac.

I should have started Keenan McCardell (1 point) over Joey Galloway (0 Points).

Also, I should have started Michael Vick (19 Points) over Carson Palmer (4 Points).

Finally, I should have started Brandon Jacobs (11 Points) over Cadillac (5 Points).

My optimal lineup would have given me 22 more points.

But, it didn't really matter because I lost 44 to 118...

Why not put Philly D in against Houston? Its David Carr for God's sake .....

On my bench... Mr Lewis, Mr McAllister, and the wrecking crew that entered Tampa and SHUT US freaking OUT!

If I had started Fred Taylor instead of Willie Parker, I would have won my matchup instead of tied. That, and using the Jag's D over Tampa's are the only changes I would have made.

I made the great move of starting Chris Henry over Santana Moss.......31 points later, Henry was deactivated (too busy with other things to keep up with last minute switches) and Moss went on to score 3 TD's. Luckily I'm up by 15 with Phillys D. But my opponent still has Brian Westbrook and Donte Stallworth. Hopefully DS sits and Westbrook is held in check. I think I'm screwed though. *dah*

Colston over either of my receivers. I'm up by 33 points, but the other guy has McNabb waiting to go. I should still be good, but McNabb does have the potential to get a 34 point game, so I'm just hoping.

Aye, I must say Frye has been a pleasant surprise so far this season. Sure he doesn't play mistake free, but still scores a bunch of (FF) points each week. And vs Oakland he was almost a must start.
