View Full Version : Anyone know about the CLE RBs?

I am in a very deep fantasy league (14 team) and there aren't many RBs left on the waiver wire, but i have no use for Dominik Davis. I have had my eye on the kid Jerome Harrison who is behind Reuben Droughns on the depth chart right now... but I think thats only a matter of time. Harrison has had a spectacular preseason and got 14 Yards on 2 Carries on Sunday.
My question for anyone who might be able to help me out is whether or not he is TRUELY the number 2 and not their other back (Jason Wright). I've heard and read that Harrison is actually their 3rd down back and would remain their 3rd down back if droughns went down.
Can anyone please help me out and let me know if Harrison is as strong as i think he is as a fantasy sleeper. Will he get the nod if Droughns goes down?

jerome harrison is the 3rd down back and if droughns were to go down, he would gain more carries, however, would then split time with Wright

Got to have better year than Davis, I don't see how you can go wrong here....
Unless you are in a keeper league. You might want to think about it then....

Jerome Harrison: Loses Backup Job to Wright.
There has to be a better option out there. Keep looking. For now, get someone hot in a scarce position, find a better FA RB, or trade for one. You must drop Davis.

your saying harrison is gonna be 3rd string??? you're crazy
Although i've always been impressed with the way Wright runs, i don't think he'll be the #2 RB

I didn't say it, check rotowire.com. Here is the article. Research is a nice touch... Glad you like Wright. I guess their coach doesn't.
Update: Wright has won the backup running back spot according to Browns general manager Phil Savage, the Associated Press reports.
Recommendation: Savage said that Wright's consistency through training camp and the preseason helped in the decision to give him the spot over rookie Jerome Harrison. Although he holds the job now, don't be suprised if he and Harrison still split the extra carries Reuben Droughns doesn't receive.

Gado was just traded, so he should be picked up in leagues where he is still available.

IMO, it's still too early in the season. That 2nd RB position for CLE could flip flop. Either way, their OL is beat up much like our Bucs OL. Pick up the guy if you can, but don't be surprized if he doesn't produce..

Ok, clearly I'm dealing with a 12 year old. When you get to 9th grade, you'll learn to do research and you'll also learn that depth charts aren't always accurate. Look, I don't know anything other than what I've dug up, which until you actually find some good information, stands accurate. If you live in Cleveland, like it says, then why don't you pick up a paper or listen to the radio and give us some thing worth while??? I'm done with this. Grow up.

thanks nolesfan... you are the user i was hoping would reply in this thread... ignore fastlane because he obviously doesn't know what he's talking about...
so you agree with me then right? harrison would fill in for droughns if he went down? i saw a lot of harrison in the preseason as well and he did have some great runs with some great hands.
I know as well as you do that the official depth chart has harrison listed as the 2nd behind droughns. I figured that for now he would be a good pick up because he still gets his touches now (so if an emergency came up i could start him, but hopefully wont have to) and if he gets his chance i think he could go large.
nolesfan... don't you think that after his preseason and if he continues to play well during the games, harrison would be the starter and wright would then be the third down back?

well when you pick up a newspaper, and there's been zero mention of wright beating out harrison, its hard to find arguements
what you pick up off rotowire don't mean ****
and by the way, since you're acting like a little ***** because you think you found some information that is false, Cleveland updates their depth chart every week

like i said, look for jerious norwood if hes stil available. The truth is if you're looking at which back-up cleveland running back in your league, unless every team is starting 4 rb, you have no chance to win unless the rest of the team overcompensates. as for your question, well is he listed 2nd on the depth chart? thats as good as an answer as you'll get.

Corell Buckhalter is a great back that can be picked up on the waiver wire. I'de look for him before Norwood, Westbrook has been dinged since the season started..
Norwood would also be good, he's a RB in the best rushing game in the NFL.

Here is more info:
The moves of Suggs and Green mean Jason Wright will be the backup running back to Reuben Droughns and Jerome Harrison. Wright played extensively in the final preseason game and averaged 4.6 yards per carry on

Hey, here's another one:
News: Browns rookie RB Jerome Harrison is now third on the depth chart.
Impact: Jason Wright is Reuben Droughns' top backup. Harrison has more value than Wright in dynasty leagues, but Droughns no longer has a solid handcuff. Wright and Harrison would split carries if Droughns got hurt. (Sat. Sep 9, 2006)
Oh my gosh - more: Update: Harrison will start the season as the Browns third running back, the Associated Press reports.
Recommendation: Browns general manager Phil Savage announced fellow back Jason Wright would back up Reuben Droughns to start the season. However, don't be surprised if Harrison receives some playing time this week as the Browns may choose to use the multi-skilled rookie as a third-down back

Hey, look, you guys have good luck with Harrison. Go ahead and pick him up, but he really he has no value, yet. To settle the argument - I don't care about Harrison - at all. I care that a bunch of kids are offering out advice with absolutely no research or personal knowledge of what they are offering. I may not know what I'm talking about, but since I have no personal knowledge of the back up RB situation in Cleveland, well, gosh, I do some research, and I found the information above, which I simply offered up on the web site. If you choose to believe yourselves, go ahead (you can find anyone to agree with you), and if you don't believe me either, thats fine, but for goodness sake, have the courtesy of offering up some decent advice on this website with some sort of source to quote - if called to do so. Thanks and good luck with Harrison. He truly looks promising, despite his negatives as a prototypical NFL RB.
