He has to be able to play in the heat of Tampa Bay
though, IMO, that hurts a lot of them. And the Bucs
don't like big guys that can't move. You know the 340 lb
and up guys. Look at A. Bryant DT on the practice squad.
But, I agree, Bucs need one!

We need a John Henderson of Marcus Stroud. Jax is extremely lucky to have those guys on their line.

Having 3 or 4 picks in the top 12 from 1999 - 2002 will do that for ya.

With Marcus Thomas getting suspeneded we may be able to get him in the late rounds and would be a nice pick-up.

Florida... The Bucs need a prototypical undertackle, a guy that has exceptional quickness and ability to penetrate. Though Stroud and Henderson are exceptional players that would do well in any system, they are classic 4-3 two gap DTs, the Bucs need a one gap penetrator a la Tommie Harris.

I'd love a Sapp or even Tommie Harris-type player, but I honestly don't think any DT in this draft is a significant upgrade over Booger.

Marcus Thomas is that style of DT. He's a disruptive penetrator.

Mebane - http://youtube.com/watch?v=1kVets7Yx8c. Great job breaking the block.
Pitcock - http://ohiostatebuckeyes.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/pitcock_quinn00.html
My vote is for Pitcock, especially after watching some OSU games. He's doubleteamed all the time and he has a sack a game so far this season. He's good sized, good strength, consistent preformer when he starts...well worth it. He'll probably work out well, so he'll boost his draft status. I'd say mid-teens in the first is reasonable.

What about Alan Branch? CNNSI is projecting him to go in the Top 10. Who knows if we'll fall in that position or not right now - let's be honest it can go either way.
Would he be worth trading up for? How I'd love to get a monster in the middle again. Our defense needs it - BADLY.

He seems to be the flavor of the month. I think he's good, like Pitcock, but not that good. People are talking about how he's the next Richard Seymour. I'm more than cautiously pessimistic.
