I think I did ok:
L. Jordan/L. Fitzgerald/A. Gates
for
C. Portis/D. Stallworth/R. McMichael
Obviously you have to factor in each teams needs...but straight up I think it's ok. I needed help at TE and WR. My other 2 RBs are Bush and Tiki.

I think it's too early to give up on McMichaels but then again, Fitz and Gates are top tier guys. Gates is off to a slow start because of Rivers. This trade is very questionable.
Who are your other RB's? Portis is going to have a good season. Lamont Jordan will play better than his first 2 weeks, but not by much..

Just to clarify, you gave up Portis/Stallworth/McMicheal?

If that was the case, I just don't like given up a top tier back for anything. However, Portis is injured and it may linger for the rest of the year. If that is the case then it was an awesome trade.

Yea, it's a good trade. Any trade involving any Raider is a good trade. Portis should roll this year. Stallworth is proving to be the prime target, and capable. McMichael is a downgrade, but will serve you well.

That's what I've been thinking, that shoulder will bite him at some point this season.
I should have been more clear, I gave up Portis/etc for Jordan etc., sorry.

I don't really like the trade. Stallworth is still a good fantasy receiver. And Bush isn't a good fantasy RB, you needed Portis. Even Gates isn't doing as well as last year But first thing is to have a strong RB core, and I don't think you have one anymore, since Jordan is a bust.

Lamont Jordan and Randy Moss are due to get at least a few TD's and a couple hundred yards this season. The only question is when. They started extremely bad but do play CLE this week and SF, ARI, STL, HOU and NYJ. Most noteably should be STL and NYJ seeing as how those are FF playoff games.
Gates's # should improve as the season goes on. Fitz will get you points every week, and Jordan will be great for spot duty.
The only bad part of the trade is that Barber's bye is this week and you have to start Lamont vs CLE who has looked improved over the past few weeks. The nice side considering Jordan is that in week 7 when Bush has his bye Jordan plays vs ARI.
You probably got the better side of the trade, it really depends on the other guy's roster and the rest of yours. Who is your #2 WR now?

I don't really have one. My WRs suck. I have R. Moss, Glenn, Andre Johnson and Galloway.
The bye issue does hurt me, I considered that. But I need alot of help at TE and WR.
RBs are important in my league but if you don't have atleast one decent WR it's tough. Moss was my first pick at WR and he has absolutely killed me. Major mistake there. Every year we hear this crap about how Oakland has a strong armed QB who's going to just throw it down the field for him. It's been abunch of BS.
Bush not being a good back...well it depends on how your scoring is set up. I get a pt per reception and 1 per 10 yds receiving 5 pts per TD (rec or rush) and 1 pt per 10yds rushing. He catches alot of balls so he has been decent so far.
I probably won't keep Jordan long. We'll see how he does this week.

Try to trade Jordan for Tatum Bell, DeAngelo Williams, or Laurence Maroney. You might have to throw another player into the package, like Moss, Galloway, or Glenn. Andre Johnson should post better stats than Tampa WR's this year because Clayton is healthy, Smith is breaking out, and we now have a Rookie QB starting for us :(
Jordan and Moss/Galloway/Glenn for Bell, Williams or Maroney would be a decent deal. The Jordan and Glenn combo might be best for you to get rid of for any of those 3 RB's.

No need to trade, those 3 RBs are FAs, I'm in an 8 team league.
That's what I meant when I said I don't know how long I will hold onto Jordan. I'll give him a shot this week, if he craps on me I'll drop him and pick up someone else.

Wow, there are some good RBs in your FA pool. What about WRs and TEs? You might have been able to upgrade both positions without making a trade.

Negative...if that was the case I would have.
WRs and TEs are much thinner.
We have 3 RBS, 5 WRs and 2 TEs on our rosters.
You take out 40 WRs and you are not left with much.
RBs on the other hand, only 24. So that leaves you with 8 starting RBs out there at any given time.
That's why it is important in my league (and most leagues) that your first WR you draft needs to be a stud or you're in trouble, I've learned that the hard way. I went RB heavy my first few picks and it has hurt me because I have gotten hardly any production our of my WRs.
We also have defensive players too, as most leagues should.

Well, in that case, maybe it wasn't such a bad trade. I'm used to leagues where RBs are thin and WRs aren't. I'm still not sure if I would've made the trade you did, but it makes more sense now.

So in essence, you are dropping Portis since the other two were roughly equal trades...

Ok, I get it now. All fantasy basic principles cease to exist in this league! Truly a magical league, indeed.

I could'nt have explained it any clearer than I did.
I get that you're used to the standard, beginner leagues, maybe one day you'll step up to a league where you actually have to make some moves on your own as opposed to strictly following the regurgitated bull**** you get from the "experts".
