I have enjoyed the additions of David Carr and Frank Gore to my team. In one of my leagues I was able to get Reggie Wayne off the waivers this last week. He may not be producing as of late, but it is a very long season.

Berrian, Colston, Cotchery, Gore, Grossman, Frye, Jennings, Pittsburgh defense
Not all in the same league, of course.

I actually drafted Gore late, but my best FA pick-up in my "money league" was Grossman - not exactly a steal though, as it cost about $27.

I might go after Carr this week. I picked up Maurice Jones-Drew and the Chargers Defense.

Actually, Colston was under the radar, as was Cotchery (sp). I'm in 3 diff leagues and both of those guys went undrafted. 1 league was only 14 rounds, but the other two were 20 or more rounds.
IMO, It's more of a surprize that Gore went undrafted in some leagues..

WOW
How can Westbrook go undrafted? I just can't imagine anyone actually being dumb enough to drop him, especially in PPR leagues.

The other guy made a mistake by dropping the wrong player, I guess.
He dropped Westbrook for John Carney (a kicker  ).

some of you guys got the wrong idea
waiver wire is picking up players who are on waivers because other people dropped them, and there's a waiver line, so once you pick up one player off waivers, you fall to the back of the list and become last chance to pick anybody up.
most of you guys are confusing it with free agents, who are anybodies grab

My best was Jake Delhomme. Somebody was losing bad with him the first few weeks, so they dropped him. My other QBs were Ben Roethlisberger, Trent Green and Kurt Warner. Delhomme was an immediate starter and I'm now 3-1 despite losing 2 out of my original 3 QBs riding the pine.

I think this is a big move myself. Alex Smith of San Fran.
I have Hasselback and he is on bye. Alex Smith will be my QB this week against, OAKLAND.
That is my only pickup for now. My team is pretty darn good. Even though im 2-2 and ive lost both games by less than 10 points. Damn Terrell Suggs failed me last week.

Someone in my league decided to drop Houshmandzadeh after week 2, apparently afraid he wasn't going to get healthy. Suffice it to say, I was more than happy to find the roster space for him.

Ok, in this case I did only have one "waiver wire steal" , the Pittsburgh defense, because nobody else in my leagues dropped a player yet that I would want desperately. And I'd like to save the shot, because you basically just get one chance to aquire a quality player that way.

Haven't used the waiver wire yet. I did pull off a trade for Cadillac in exchange for Antonio Bryant though.

I understand how the Waiver Wire works in the real NFL, but we're talking FF here. In my league the WW is what happens before just anybody can get their chance with the FA's. In my leagues, the WW is a trumped listing of who gets to pick first from all the available players depending on their current record in the league. Bad record = first pick, good record = last pick.
After the WW is over (2 day period for submitions) it's a free-for-all on the remaining FA's.

Wrong! nfl.com puts all free agents on waiver until wedenesday morning...every week. Most people who have Colston, claimed him off of waivers. Different sites have different systems.
