After watching the game last night, I think it's a matter of the players "not wanting it" for this team's lack of success. Jeff Bowden actually called a good game last night, but Weatherford didn't execute. I can't count how many slants and hooks guys were open and he airmailed it. Easy 7, 8 yard gains and he couldn't put it on the numbers. With the success they were having on the ground, the WRs were open on almost every play and being given a huge cushion, but Weatherford consistently missed the open guy by locking on one WR. You'd think he was a freshmen looking at him last night. Of course, losing Nicholson didn't help matters either. I expect them to drop from the top 25 this week.
The QB from NC State looked like he's going to be a good one for years to come and that RB they had was a beast.
The one positive note for FSU is Warren the TE, he's going to be a good one.

Anyone see the post-game interview with the QB from NC State? Guy looks like Opie Taylor and Chris Simms had a love child.

I totally agree. My post from another thread......
As much as I like to hate on Jeff Bowden, last night's game was not his fault. NC State was just more physical and executed much better on both sides of the ball. What a bad decision by Drew at the end of the game too.
Warren will be a stud, but the kid needs to learn how to hang on to the ball.

Couldn't believe the result last night, Booker actually wasn't running that bad and Weatherford had to throw a pick on a play where Chris Davis was wide open. Yeah Brandon Warren looks good as well as the entire linebacking corps (Hayes, Davis, Timmons). Chris Davis made a nice play on not that good of a pass for that touchdown which was kinda surprising.

What FSU is missing is a "go to" guy on offense. In the past they always had a guy where if they got to the Red Zone, he was close to unstoppable. This year, they don't have anyone who is "money" in the Red Zone and they are settling for FGs instead of TDs. At least twice I can remember they had first and goal inside the ten and came away with FGs. The line for the most part was giving Weatherford plenty of time to throw, but the WRs couldn't get open or they ran **** poor routes and didn't execute the play.
At this point, what do they have to lose putting Xavier Lee in? He may be dumb as a box of rocks, but they may as well find out what they have in him. Weatherford's decision making like on that last pass is horrible. Though i have to give him credit for the long play to Booker where he "got away". But those plays are few and far between from him as usually he's a sitting duck back there.

I've always been a fan of Weatherford; I thought of him as a Casey Weldon or a more mobile Danny Kannel, but maybe we've seen all that we are going to see out of him. Maybe this is all he his. Maybe he's a Marcus Outzen - a caretaker. Granted he's just a Sophomore and its early in his career, but does anyone think that the current coaching staff is capable of getting more out of the guy?
I'm not supporting a switch at QB yet, but we certainly need to see a lot more of Lee, who has great potential. Let them both play - just like Kannel used to come in for Charlie Ward - Let Lee run a few series. Put him in the shotgun. Put the talent on the field and see where it goes. Then this spring, Lee will have some experience and we can have a good quarterback battle in camp. My guess is that Weatherford's still the best guy for this team, but we won't know until we at least get Lee on the field for a few meaningful series (against someone other than Rice) and see if he's capable of improving and leading this team.

As long as the Gators lose on November 25th, I don't care what they do the rest of the year.
Florida State lost to NC State.....
NC State lost to the ZIPS!
COME ON!

THis is a bad bad football year for me so far. Even if FSU runs the table, which they won't, we'd still have a good chance of not making it to atleast the ACC championship game. We are seriously looking at another 4 or 5 losses. Virginia, wake, BC, UF and hell why not throw maryland into the mix as well. What's sad is their are only 2 games that FSU SHOULD win for the rest of the season.
Between FSU and the bucs, it's a very rough football season indeed.
here's something that really put across the FSU situation. (http://a1135.g.akamai.net/f/1135/18227/1h/cchannel.download.akamai.com/18227/podcast/TALLAHASSEE-FL/WNLS-AM/jcs%20open%20fsu%20football%20funeral%20100606.mp3 )

NCState is now in drivers seat for the ACC with
2-0 record.
Just pitiful losing to them. Just pitiful. 20-10 and let
a freshman QB come back like that!

I'll say it, He's Chris Rix/Wyatt Sexton all rolled into one. The coaching staff will get out of him (Weatherford)just what they got out of Rix, and just as Rix continued to start year after year, He got worse and worse. While the more talented QB rode the pine, McPherson, now Lee.
Lee will never see the field unless FSU is mud-holing some team 40-3. I will be shocked if Lee ever starts a game at FSU, while weatherford is healthy, Just because of the OC decisions.

Hey, even Florida is putting Tebow in to play and Leak is a Heisman candidate. (I don't understand that)
