I'm hoping for either him or Quentin Moses. Or some havoc wrecking DT, but I don't really see any of those available.

adams made a sick play yest when he hit the holder, forced the fumbled, recovered the fumble, and took it to the house. The play reminded me of the time 2 yrs ago that J peppers came around the edge, snatched the ball from vick and ran it in for a td

I want a DE who is a football player. If Gaines Adams and Quentin Moses are not one-dimension at their position, then I would be happy with either one.

good luck finding a DE from college who isn't one dimensional. Thats the problem with college football, they try and win down there, and guys like mario williams and manny lawson and kamerion wimbley last year, and guys like adams and moses this year, they're all guys who play on teams where their coaches used them for their speed, so they were mainly just pass-rushing players, and the LBs behind them were more for stopping the run

Honestly, if they bring our pass rush back up somewhere close to where it used to be, I'll be satisfied.

Marcus Thomas and the guy from UT that tore his bicep are the 2 I am really high on as far as DT goes. I forgot his name but the UT DT was penetrating the line extremely fast. Marcus Thomas is the heart and soul of the UF D and is a dominate pass rusher reminds me a lot of Sapp but with less talking. Against LSU MT was double teamed and was deep in the back field in almost every play he was in (considering he didn't know he was even playing until Friday I would say that is pretty good). Watch him on Saturday against Auburn, he will have a big game.

I hope he recovers from the smashing that Tebow gave him.

(edit) But yes he is a extremely good player, I just had to throw that in there. After watching Nelson what you think about him?

Isn't he the UF DT that got suspended? Or am I just imagining things? We know the Bucs won't draft character risks anymore. I'm on the Gaines Adams bandwagon big time now after seeing what he's done so far this season.

Larry Dibbles is the guy you're thinking about from Texas.

Or Okam.

Ok, I was right Marcus Thomas was the suspended one. For similar reasons as why Warren Sapp fell in the draft, only this time there is proof. While he sounds good, and he has me intrigued but I don't think the Bucs would draft someone that has that on his record.

Yes, he tested positive for weed in the off-season and was suspended for the 1st game of the season. When they tested him again he tested positive again so he was supposed to be suspended for longer but he appealed saying it was from the same use he was suspended earlier for so they retested and it tested negative and he has been clean since. Yes there is some risk, but hopefully he has learned his lesson and this could drop his draft value to the late second/early third which considering he has 1st round talent it could be worthwhile if he stays clean.

No, I was referring to Justin Harrell #92 from Tennessee. Even with the torn bicep during the UF game he had tremendous push and was very impressive.

I think the Bucs might take a chance if he drops to 2nd round, but playmaking DTs are too valuable to let drop.

I am all for Gaines Adams in the first, and either Buster Davis or Rufus Alexander in the 2nd.

True but with drug related issues his draft value will drop. Wasn't it Wroten last year for LSU who tested positive for weed and dropped to the second day?

Thomas is a much better player than Wroten. Plus, I'm a tad nervous about drafting any Florida players. Not that Thomas is bad, just been burned a lot, you know? Anthony, Green, Walker...

And I think we should keep an eye for USC linemen and secondary players. Both of those position coaches came from USC. I've been hearing something about a junior DE from USC...haven't seen him play yet though.

Thomas and Wroten strike me as the exact same player/person. ButThomas will get more hype in Bucland as we have more Florida homers than LSU homers. I don't think Thomas has done much to make people consider him as significantly better than Wroten. And Lawrence Jackson is the DE I think you're refering to. Somewhat overrated IMO.

Yeah, well if he's a USC DE and we have his former coach as our DL coach, we could likely end up with this overrated DE. Hope not.

As for Thomas, his slide will be determined by if he has another test. If he goes straight into the NFL substance abuse program, he'll go late. If he's clean at the combine, he'll probably be drafted 1st day.
