Here's the perfect draft formula in franchise mode... let me see if I can remember how I used to do it...
Round one - Quarterback that is not named vick... someone who can hit your recievers and doesn't need to be mobile
Round two - Randy Moss is always available in round two. Get him.
Round three - Another star receiver
Round 4-8 offensive line - guards first, then tackles (Marvel smith and another one usually works) then get the center
Round 9 - reggie bush is up still... get him. In order to use him effectively just use highlight stick to break tackles, he does this very well with his 97 agility.
Round 10 - Antonio gates should be up... get him.
Now the offense is pretty much set except for fullback... that ocmes up later
Round 11-12 - cornerbacks I usually pick players with high speed, agility, and jump. Awareness and catch can be taught in TC
Round 13-17 - This is where you get the linebackers and free safeties. I usually end up getting Ernie Sims, Larry Foote, and AJ hawk... just get the fastest safeties availalbe because tackling can be taught in training camp.
Round 18- If you can get janikowski now get him. If not, wait to get a kicker later. Get Grady Jackson or Haloti Ngata here.
Round 19 - Get Grady Jackson or Ngata here.
Round 20 - Just get a defensive end with good speed and decent strength...
Round 21 - same thing
Round 22 - FB with run blocking
That is pretty much the perfect drafting formula

i have a different formula...
Defense First and trade for offensive weapons using draft picks.
CB first.
Champ then D Hall
MLB: Tatupu is best option for long run.

oh none of you guys get it
Left tackle with your first pick
Right Tackle with your 2nd pick
CB with the 3rd
DT with the 4th
DE with the 5th
OLB with the 6th
CB with the 7th
S with the 8th
WR with the 9th
MLB with the 10th
then go from there
you can wait on QBs, take a rookie because they increase so easily and usually a rookie RB is like that too

Oh and I forgot to mention trade your first three draft picks for Nate Vasher... It's much easier drafting offensively because defense is so easy to play on Madden, and when you have real skilled offensive weapons, there's no stopping you.
