Why is Gears Of War so Good

Hammer of Dawn

Seriously, the less you hear about the game, the more surprised you'll be. I haven't met anyone who didn't absolutely love it. Just go and get it. Unless you get faint at the sight of blood.

There are alot of reasons why gears is so good, the 2 main ones for me are:

-The graphics. The best I have seen in a shooter, and maybe the best I have seen in any game.

-The gameplay. Very fluid and very realistic.

Like miami said, I have yet to hear someone say that the game sucked or it was'nt worth it etc. There are some little things I don't like about the game, but overall it is a very good game.

If you get it and are on live, let us know, a few of us get together and play it on live.

I am dominating things on ranked matches. Maybe some Racamoni, Rabid, Buccs, and Angry play some 10 round ranked matches and own the kids that come in and not work as a team. :cool:

Stay away from both of those. They are cool weps in single player, but in multi, they just make you a target.

Me and Angry did that to a guy that was on our team the other night. The guy was flat out horrible. Kept sitting back leaving us for dead. So we started the next round and BAM! shotgun to pieces.

I've done it on accident many times. Particularly on Gridlock, when we all rush the tower. One guy always runs right in front of my fire...and I clip his legs.

I don't know about buccs though, it sounds like he's getting all good and everything, not sure if I'm much competition for him anymore. Maybe I can be on his team and just stay behind him and stomp some people after he downs them.

Na. You, me, and rabid 99% of the time are teammates. I like it that way. We seem to get things taken care of.

It won't take 2 weeks. Just complete a few acts in the campaign to get familiar with the controls, and you'll be fine. It does'nt matter if you're any good or not (I totally suck), we all play for fun and just joke around.

I'm not sure, he could probably show you. But apparently you chain saw yourself, he saw blood when he did it , but I watched him and it just looked like he was reving his chanisaw.

Ok so i wasn't really a believer in GOW because i usally like more realistic games, but I played at my friends house and it was AWESOME! I played online and fell inlove, i could've played all day nonstop, no problem. This game is just plain fun. I'm going to buy a 360 just for it, and well Halo 3

Apparently only the people watching the screen of the person who does it can see it. So, if you are playing multiplayer local you can see it on both screens, but not the other people. He sort of had it right. This is how, you switch your lancer with another weapon. Whne you pick it back up just hit melee first and while holding down b pick the lancer back up by tapping x. Kind of have to do it fast, like while you're guy would be in the middle of a strike. Looks cool from your screen running around spraying blood on everything. Kind of like tagging with a smoke grenade, but with blood. Doesn't hurt you and there's not much of a point to it other than it's cool. Btw, it's not my trick, i give credit to another person on a Gears message board who firgured it out. There are a bunch of other tricks, like taking cover on nothing(which serves no purpose), other than a super long jump. There's aiming a grenade with a shotgun, a way to run 10x faster, which i haven't been able to accomplish. It would be cool one night just to get together to try to exploit some of these things though. None of these things, with the exception of running 10x faster would benefit you in a firefight or in a match, so i really don't think it's cheating. The running thing maybe, but if you saw what you had to do to get it to work, that would probably take you longer than the match itself, so again no point. There is one way to go above(and below) the fuel depot level, so maybe with a sniper that could be effective.

Cathing the fever now huh....That's why ive been playing PDZ lately. Trying to get my 1000 kills in each while i have it borrowed from a friend. I know it's late, but im getting on now.

Pretty cool game. I'm not much for first person shooter, though the graphics on these are getting better to the point where I like them.

Think I've died 40 times tonight already. When they are on those stationary guns can mow through you like a hot knife through warm butter. Kind of weird seeing your lower body fling off to the side while blood comes down the screen.

Some of the stuff in here is the same thing I've heard. Its a short game but you buy it for the online and multiplayer gaming not for the single player portion.

I was just ripped in half by a berserker (first one I'm guessing there is more). Time to figure out how to lure her outside and use the Hammer of Dawn. Took me a while to figure out how to use it. At first thought the laser was for me to line up my bullets. Then when I held it still for a while and the huge laser came down from the sky I decided there is no better weapon.
