There's been a few threads on this but,
I was in the same boat about 6 weeks ago. I went with the 360 because:
-Way more games. I don't feel like waiting 6 months for some decent games to come out on PS3.
-$200 cheaper
-Online system is better on 360
-All the blue ray and 1080i crap really does'nt matter to me.
To answer your questions specifically:
-I believe all ps3s play blue ray. not 100% on that though.
-Playstation does have online play, but it is not as good imo as xbox live.
-The headset comes with the 360, it plugs into your controller. The wireless interent adapter is sold seperately, it's like $100.
-As far as the graphics go, it's really going to depend on the game. One example is my wife's cousin came over and watched me play some gears of war. His brother has a PS3. He said that GoW absolutely blew away dead rising on ps3, he said it was'nt even close. I think if you give ps3 6 months, the graphics will catch up to 360, and maybe even pass it. I'd have to say graphics wise, both systems will probably be prettty close.

I did lots of research of both before I decided to buy my 360.
There were several reasons I went with the 360 over the PS3,
1) Availability - no one can get a PS3 right now without spending 2 to 3 times what it is worth... no thanks.
2) Games -- Currently, PS3 has nothing worth buying that the 360 doesn't already have. This is going to change, and I'm sure there will be some exclusive titles that will make people want to get a PS3 (Metal Gear for example), but those are at least a year down the line and 360 already has a bunch of great games.
3) Power -- PS3 on paper has more "power", but the difference is so small that I don't view it as an advantage over the 360, it's more of a push.
4) Blue-Ray -- I'm going to say it now, and you can take it for what it's worth. Blue-Ray will become the next Beta-Max (another Sony product they tried to force on the market that filed). HD-DVD's are cheaper and the quality is so close to the Blue-Ray's that again, it's not worth the extra cost to get them. There are also huge issues with the Blue-Ray player for the PS3 and dealing with high end HD TV's. HD-DVD's are already being massed produced and don't look like they are going anywhere.
While this is one advantage the PS3 does have over the 360 (you have to buy the HD-DVD player for the 360, an extra 200 bucks, while the PS3 comes with a Blue-Ray player, although it's about 200 bucks more expensive than the 360 package). Blue-Ray might be a dead technology in a few years.
5) Price, the 360 is cheap, much cheaper. The games are cheaper, the system is cheaper... period.
6) Online -- While I have not seen the PS3 online arena, I am almost positive that the XBox Live service is better. Why? Because XBL is amazing, and is so well integrated into the system. It's really impressive and I think PS3 is going to have to really work on their service to get it up to snuff.

Great post. What issues are there with the Blu-Ray and high end tvs?
BTW...360 is definately the way to go. Imho xbox has better exclusive titles and much better online support.

Probably depends on what kind of games you like to play as well. There are exclusive games on both systems now that I think are really good. Though haven't really played the exlusive games in much depth yet.
I wish there was a way to see more head to head comparisons. Especially on getting to see graphics. At least getting to see them in person.
As far as the hd vs blue ray, one will be the beta max. Just with the 360 there is a chance to go both ways. PS3 has it built in already and doesn't look like it can have another one plug into it.
From what I hear 360 has the better online stuff, but it sounds like you have to pay for it. Though not sure how much the monthly service is. Don't know if PS3 is free or pay. I remember the EA games for PS2 being free to play online. Of course if you pay for it then probably more likely to maintain it and tech support it.
Even though I've already gotten one of them I am still going back and forth in my head on which one I really want. Though it will probably be a year before you have a chance to buy a PS3.
Would also like to see people talk about failures on them. I'm already getting a disk read error. Though there might be a small hair line scratch on the disk. I know the PS3 displays keep locking up because they designed the display case wrong and it can't breath.

-xbox live gold is $50 per year and well worth it imo.
-ps3s are pretty easy to find around here, I saw a few at target the other day.

I have not seen one positive post on the ps3 on this board at all. I have a ps3 and I am pleased with it so I will give you my reason for the PS3. As far as the 20 gb:
- it does not include wireless internet but you can buy an adapter unless you get the 60 gb which has it included
-20 gb is only $100 more not $200 (thats the 60gb) than the 360 premium
- xbox live might be the best online and have a better interface but if you want to save some money you can play ps3 for free online and I have yet to experience any lag on mine whatsoever. It also has a web browser to view websites on your TV.
- Launch games aren't that good for PS3 and there are plenty of good games coming out in Feb. and Mar. It is just a matter of whether you want to play some good games now or wait and give the PS3 a few months and have some very good titles come out later.
- almost all of the ps2 games are compatible with PS3
-I have not had any mechanical problems with mine as some people say there are. The system just came out so im sure any issues listed will be fixed. When the 360 came out they had a huge overheating problem and it got fixed so I would not be worried about that
I think the PS3 will be worth it in the end even though people are quick to put it down but its only been out 1 month and 360 has had a year head start. Just thought I would give you an opinion on it since most people on this board favor the 360 and don't list a whole lot of positives on the PS3.

Here's whats up...
I have about $500 and I was very close to buying a PS3. I really wanted one a week ago (I'm a sucker for new ****)
but then I looked at the games for the future of the PS3...they in my eyes SUCK.
360 has awesome, awesome games for the future...it really does have a great list of games.
So just yesterday I said **** the PS3 and decided that I will be buy a 7.1 Surround Sound for my room. Much better buy.
I will have a 360 with great games and online...HDTV...and Surround Sound. Oh hell yeah.....

Nice comment on the "what happened to bluray=more diskspace=more content". Obviously you only played a demo so you would know theres more. The system just came out so you can't expect them to be able to use everything now because developers have said its hard to make games for it and use all the space so just wait at least 6 months before saying anything. Im just giving my opinion on why he should buy it I don't want to turn this into a which console is better, I am just giving my reasons. Its your opinion that you think 360 games are better and mine that it isnt and thats that.
As far as bluray is concerned it is not overrated and I would like to know why you think that. Even Disney has said they are exclusively going with Bluray now and it will take a while but I believe more will follow.......Again this isn't an argument over which system is better. I have both and only the 360 is getting some love right now. The next game for the ps3 that I'm going to get is Formula 1 CE. Then Madden and SOCOM. The ps3 with blu-ray can store 50 gigs compared to 9 gigs on a regular dvd for 360 games. MS wont be making hd-dvd only games so in the future, ps3 games may be more advanced, but not now. I liked the ps2 controller a lot better too. The ps3 controller feels a little weird.

I prefer the feel of the ps2 controller for madden. Yeah, it feels really light too. I don't know if I would use the sixaxis tilt either. A lot of times I'm sitting sideways on the couch so I think that it would hurt me more than anything if enabled. I want the rumble back!
