I don't think it will be Peyton, because he was the poter child for NFL Fever. One thing about EA, they never forget.
I hope they put a montage of D'Angelo Hall and Steve Smith. Just kidding. It really is LT's to say no to. I would expect him to accept if offered.

I'll agree with a falcon fan and say that Merriman was definitly one of the figures who instantly popped in my head when you guys mentioned madden 08. LT has to be the frontrunner by a landslide and it really should be his to turndown if he pleases.

LT or Vince Young

I say LT or Peyton Manning. It would most likey be LT I think. Who knows I hope a Buccaneer gets on there one day but after the curse is broke.

LT should get the cover hands down, and he seems like a sharp guy, so I'm betting that he has more sense than to turn it down because of a "curse". The Madden curse is a joke. People are seeing what they want to see with that one.

I'm not sure it CAN be LT or Manning.
Both have had liscensing agreements in the past with other game franchises. Peyton was the spokesman for NFL Fever on the XBox, and Tomlinson for the 2K Sports series (Gameday?).
The reason neither of them have been yet is that they might not be legally allowed to.
Drew Brees would make a lot of sense.

The guy that one my FF this season has LT in our keeper league. I hope LT is on the cover to give the rest of us a chance next year. :D

I wouldn't be surprised to see Vince Young on the cover, especially if they somehow enter the playoffs.
He is a popular icon already and marketability is probably the main thing that decides who is on the cover.
If the Titans do not make the playoffs it should be LaDanian Tomlinson because it's his year.

Lt hands down. However Simms with his 'Got Spleen' shirt would bring some humor to the coverboy.

I still don't believe in the curse... Sanders never played, George put up his best numbers, Faulk and Lewis missed a total of 3 games. You can see it all below. As for the cover of 2008, I wouldn't expect to se LT on it. McNabb was on it for some passing game improvements and Alexander was on it for the new RB improvements. Talk is that they will focus more on the WR this year so look for someone like Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, or Marvin Harrison.
Madden 2000: Barry Sanders. He retired before training camp began.
Madden 2001: Eddie George. Rushed for 1,509 yards and 16 touchdowns, both career highs.
Madden 2002: Daunte Culpepper. Missed the final five games with a knee injury.
Madden 2003: Marshall Faulk. He missed two games with an injured ankle.
Madden 2004: Michael Vick. Suffered a broken right leg during an exhibition game and missed the first 11 games of the regular season.
Madden 2005: Ray Lewis. The Ravens' linebacker didn't have an interception for the only time in his career. He missed the last game because of an injured wrist.
Madden 2006: Donovan McNabb. Missed the final seven games because of a sports hernia.
Madden 2007: Shaun Alexander. Broke his foot and missed 6 games.

Exactly. George has already disproven the curse. Why do people still talk about it?

Actually, while Sanders did the first cover, then retired, Dorsey levens photo then graced the second shipment of that madden addition, His year was pathetic and resulted in him getting cut the next season.
Eddie George had a great year, But missed a beautiful pass in the playoffs, he tipped it and it got intercepted and ran back for a game winning TD by their opponents.
Marshal Faulk rushed for under 1000 yds for the first time in years when he was on the cover.
The year Ray lewis graced the cover, the Ravens missed the playoffs, and he was injury plagued the next season.

Please no Simms either. He needs this year to redeem himself, or his career is going to be scarred.

Simms couldn't get on the madden cover if he was the one paying them.

So Levens was on the cover of Madden 2000? If that's the case, then he was solid that season (1999), rushing for over 1,000 yards, catching 71 passes, and scoring 10 times.
That's a good season. And BTW, he was not by Green Bay until 2002, three years after his cover shot.

I am sure it has been brought up before , but would there be a chance that next years player could be white (for the first time) ?

Why ask if it really doesn't matter to you? Color doesn't matter to me, and it never dawned on me that a white guy hadn't been on the cover of madden since madden himself. If color doesn't matter to you, then why make a specific request to have a white guy on the cover?

If he does well in the playoffs and the Cowboys at least make it to the NFC Championship Game, then Tony Romo could very well be on the cover. Being on "America's Team", that would be a good marketing move.

Jason Taylor, Shawne Merriman, or Chump Bailey.
Champ probaly won't make it but I'm going complete defense since they seem to switch sides of the ball every year. Going along with the new features.
I wouldn't mind it being a O-lineman for once. They definately deserve the chance. But, it won't happen.

In recent years the cover of Madden is the guy that plays the position that madden updated through the game, so Until we know the theme...itll be hard to know who is on there. Possibly a Wide Receiver as they have done QB and RB the last two years.

Romo is a third-generation Mexican American on his father's side. His grandfather, Ramiro Romo Sr., emigrated from Múzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico to San Antonio, Texas as an adolescent. The elder Romo cites Tony's success as an example of the possibilities afforded to immigrants in the United States: "I've always said this is a country of opportunities. If you don't get a job or an education, it's because you don't want to." [3] Romo's mother is of Polish-German descent.
