I haven't really followed him, but what do you guys think we should do? I know we signed Chris Simms but their are rumors going on about trading him. But to get to the point do you think we should draft Brady Quinn, or stay with Chris Simms? If we go with a rookie QB their is always a chance of him taking a while to fit in and us having another bad season. I wouldn't mind having him as QB and finally having a franchise QB. What do you guys think?

IMO, if we did not have more pressing needs I say yes, he would be a good aqcuisition BUT, I think that Gruden wants a quarterback with speed so I would think that he would go after Russell from LSU or Smith from OSU if they are available. Most likely Detroit and Oakland will draft them first.
We, as a team have spent such little attention on our defense that I would love to see Buster Davis picked up with our first pick, how ever it is not likely that Gruden will spend an early pick on a linebacker. Look for us to go with Calvin Johnson or someone simular.

I agree very much, and hope our first draft pick is defence, but at the same time I would love to see a franchise QB.

The fact Gruden NEEDS to win next year to save his job means the Bucs will likely pass on him and get a player that can start and make an impact his first year, like a Joe Thomas or Calvin Johnson. I think Quinn is going to be a good pro. Notre Dame really doesn't have that many good players around him outside of Samardjia. The O-line has not played well and running game hasn't been able to get going, plus their defense sucks. And still for him to be able to put up 37 TDs compared to 5 INTs is pretty impressive.

Are you kidding???
We have a really young and promising offense who are about to bring a lot of a games. You can't waste about 3 years for the maturing of a QB at that point.
AND... you just cannot pass on CJ.

I'd love to draft Quinn... have him sit behind and learn from Simms or Garcia for 2 years, while our o-line matures...

I dont want a rookie qb again....i dont care if its quinn, russel, smith or brohm.......we need a playmaker......and that playmaker plays for georgia tech and he wears # 21.

I agree with the selection of CJ, but if he's takent by Oakland or Detroit, and Quinn is still there then I say take him. With Gruden grooming Quinn, he won't lose his job after another poor season, if the team at least shows promise. This might be a good way for him to convince the owners not to give up on him after next year. Not saying he'd look to draft a QB just to save his job, but it would be an argument that might save his job. (But don't tell the Cardinals this).

Good question! I want to know that as well. One question for you JaimieUK, you live in the UK and are an Irish fan? How does that work? Just curious.

got into football as a fan in 82, and was playing come 83.
A terrestrial channel starting showing NFL games and I got hooked, I've never looked back.
Notre Dame were the first college team I saw on T.V, Ron Powlus was our QB, and the mysticism of the Golden Dome and the ghosts of former greats, reached out and pulled me in. ;) :D
Thanks to streaming I was able to watch all but a couple of games this season, so I've been able to follow them more then ever, next step will be getting to a game.
Go Irish
