Best: Mortal Kombat. It didn't take itself too seriously, and just went with it and it worked well for a decent action movie.

Worst: Anything directed by Uwe Boll is high on the completely unwatchable list, but Street Fighter gets my nod for worst video game movie ever. Street Fight DID take itself seriously, and it ended up being just totally terrible. Plus, barely any fighting at all. The movie is based on a fighting game, the movie is called Street Fighter, and for some reason very little fighting. Focusing on dialogue and story was an incorrect choice to say the least.

Best- Mortal Kombat or Silent Hill

Worst- Mortal Kombat 2, Resident Evil...and like FLA-Gator said, anything directed by Uwe Boll.

This should have been titled, "what sucks least."

Best: Resident Evil
Worst: Ehh.... they're all pretty lousy. I think "Super Mario Brothers" is up there.

I just recently wached bloodrayne, and only two b's comes to mind. bloody and bad....in a bad way. and I didn't like how they did silent hill. changing the main character to a women killed the plot. the one I liked the most was resident evil. sure they didn't follow the plot, but it was an original idea. unlike te others one that kinda try to follow it and butcher the story and everything.

The whole plot of Resident Evil involves olbiterating everything that moves in the most gorey manner possible. I thought both were good renditions of the games, since they kept with the theme of the series: horror.

As for bad ones, most game based movies are pretty terrible, but Uwe Boll's abominations take the cake for their staggering level of crap-itude.

Well this is a quick answer thread...

Good : I wasn't aware there were any one's considered 'good'.
Bad : See - just about every single one made.

Video game to film adaptations are just about always a waste of money (save a few mediocre ones). We can only hope some of the ones currently getting thrown over will be good (Castlevania comes to mind).

The best were probably the Resident Evil ones. Doom was alright too.

And like many people have already said...the Uwe Bol movies are absolutely the worst. Although Kristanna Loken made Bloodrayne at least decent to watch.

well I couldn't tell you from 2 and on, but silent hill, the original silent hill that the movie followed...it was a man.

Best: Final Fantasy. I know a lot of people didn't like it, but I thought it was a great movie, and I liked the animation.

Worst: Wow, what a long list of horrible video game movies. As for Uwe Boll: how about House of The Dead? That thing was a rag. Mario Brothers is probably #1 worst.

Question: Does Tron count? Didn't the movie come out before the game?

The movie was made in like the 70s or 80s, so it's a video game based on a movie, not the other way around.

That's what I thought. Pretty funny looking back on it now. They made a movie about living in a video game. Then, someone said "Hey we should make this movie into a video game!"

Have you played Resident Evil 4? The storylines of the Resident Evil games always interested me, but I agree the gameplay was always really blah for me. But Resident Evil 4 totally changed the gameplay, and made it extremely fun.

I've been missing out on Res Evil 'cause i switched to xbox back when it came out. The first one was awesome the first time i played it. Also my favorite movie made from a video game. The only reason it beats Doom is because of Milla.

House of the Dead is the worst, imo.

Worst: Alien Vs. Predator. Seriously, when the chick and the Predator were running down the hall to inspirational music, I threw up. Honorable Mention: Mario Brothers

Best: Probably Resident Evil, I don't really like horror movies, but this was rather well done. Honorable Mention: Mortal Kombat
