What purpose does the toughness rating serve in madden?

Just wondering what it actually does... I just learned about IMP and how it means importance but what does toughness do?

I think it's the ability to heal from injuries. A player with high toughness might only be out for a couple plays, while a player with low toughness will be out for the game.

I used to think it was the ability to play through tough injuries, but I found out that not one single player plays through a "questionable" injury unless you tell them to in the game.

I think you're right. I've always assumed that a player's INJ rating determines their chance of getting hurt, and their TGH rating determines how quickly they recover from it.
