Roy Williams was 3rd in recieving yards.
Mike Furrey was 2nd in receptions.
They still didn't win.
That means no matter how good their recieveing core is, they still are missing other parts.

I agree....... But, with that being said. They still might draft him, and trade him to the highest bidder. Probably not going to get draft chart value, but maybe an extra 2nd round or more. Thats what scares me. If any of those three teams selects Calvin Johnson, we'll at least make them an offer.
A Lions official confirmed that the team has received phone calls from at least eight teams interested in trading up to No. 2. One of those teams is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, now scheduled to pick at No. 4. The Lions and Buccaneers have had multiple trade conversations. If Tampa Bay were to trade from No. 4 to No. 2, it could allow the Buccaneers to draft Georgia Tech wide receiver Calvin Johnson, whom team officials privately worked out April 13 with quarterback Chris Simms and wide receivers Michael Clayton and David Boston.

With Matt Millen and Al Davis with the top two picks.....you have no clue what will happen.

Lions might take CJ and hold him hostage for a trade.

the only teams are ahead of us and scare me of taking CJ from us are the Raiders and Lions. Raiders, JaMarcus Russell seems to be the most fit for the raiders but with Al Davis..... you just never know. And for the Lions they probably scare me the most. basically because they have a history for taking WRs. the only team ahead of us that I am not scared of them taking CJ is the browns...

I came from the Lions board looking to see what you guys (Tamps Fans) thought of all the CJ trade talk. Let me tell ya Millen is a 1st class moron and will draft CJ. It doesnt matter that we have taken 3 WR's in the 1st round the last 4 years.

The Lions have so many holes to fill, but even the Lions fan are starting to eat the CJ cornbread and falling in love with him. Dont get me wrong I think he will be a terrific receiver, but we (Lions) already have R.Williams who is a pro-bowler and Furrey who had 1,000 season last year. I dont want CJ I want draft picks, but I am in the minority now in Lions lala land :(
It is looking likely that Millen will take Johnson and try and auction him off, but since he is such an idiot he will fail miserably and we will get stuck with another WR.

I see that happening as well. I would not be suprised if the Bucs make this offer.
Our first pick, our last 2nd rounder and Brian Kelly for CJ. Why I say BK is because Rod Marinelli knows what type of player he is, and I don't think BK is too happy here with his current contract. We would then move Phillip Buchanon to BK's spot.

Just a bump for what I said could still happen.

Dream on. The Lions site says they are keeping C.J. :-(
