My Draft Day Wish......a unique but simple mock!

Tampa trades down w/ Miami......exchanges Pick 4 for Picks 9 & 40.
(Miami uses Pick to select Brady Quinn)

Tampa then loads up:


Pick 9: Adam Carriker (immediately upgrades run defense and solid end for years, maybe not a pro bowler every year but consistent)

Pick 35: Ryan Kalil (adds a 10 year starter at center to an improving line, makes all reads and can snap shotgun formation/next year we Jake Long or Sam Baker at LT)

Pick 40: Trade up w/ San Diego to select Justin Harrell, huge body for NT/ flexibility to play Hovan and Carter at UT (also give next year's 3rd round selection to make trade or one of our CB/Safeties

Pick 64: Eric Weddle or Aaron Rouse.....depth or future starters at Safety

Pick 68: Victor Abiamiri....another prospect to improve pass rush.....only 20 yrs old and strong....

Pick 99: Marcus Thomas....a future UT......worth the chance at this point due to quality added

Pick 132: Yamon Figurs or Steve Breaston or Jacoby Jones....invest in a much need KR/ST

NOTE: Draft day trades see Simeon Rice and Brian Kelly sent packing for 3rd Rounders this year.......with two additional Picks in the 70 - 100 range......Tampa adds both CB Dameon Hughes and Safety Sabby Piscitelli or guard Josh Beekman to increase our versatility along the line.......guys that can play two positions...ie, AD, Buenning.

Rounds 5-7 are crap shoots but I would look at Top Ranked div II guys like S Darren Stone, TE Kevin Boss and OT's Jacob Bender & Allan Barbre.

ill puke if we draft carriker......he doesnt fit a Cover 2 DE. IF we picked him he would have to play DT because him as a DE in our system is like a DT playing LB in a 3-4...

I can tell you right now...there is a 100% chance that the Bucs first pick will not be defense...Gruden would not allow it.

He might give Monte the two 2nd round picks to make up for it, but never the 1st round one.

Well, not that I don't like Thomas.....I do but I much rather have the center and focus our efforts next year on replacing LT w/ either Jake Long or Sam Baker.....

W/ our problems on Defense, can't see us going 1 & 2 on offense again....
