I need a new RB on my fantasy team and was thinking about getting him, but will he be splitting carries with Graham or will he be a backup?

You more concerned with the set-up of our team or your little computer, time-waster?

This place will help you out much more http://bbs.buccaneers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=16.

Fantasy football should include less computers and bored middle-aged men and instead include more scantly clad cheerleaders...

The fact is that the trade as not been officialy announced yet so nobody knows why they brought him in Tampa. You will see after this weeks game.

well you are just setting yourself up with this thread.

This should be in the Fantasy Subforum for sure... Bennett is going to come in, learn the system... and maybe get the ball a few times down the road and we will go from there...

Read/follow the rules, Ronde and, surprisingly, you won't hear quite so many complaints against your computer game thread.

Fine, thank you, but I fail to see what that has to do with this has to do with your inability to fathom the sub-folders.

Tune in this Thursday for another exciting chapter of the STPT, by the way.

I understand that, I have been here far longer than alot of members and those in this thread, I have seen the lows of this forum

but a depth chart question IMO should go into Team Discussion regardless of it impacting a fantasy decision or not.

If I asked should I pick up or drop a player I would have put it in fantasy, I wanted to know what everyone thought the status of are depth chart would look like with Bennett and use that to decide weather or not to pick him up in fantasy

To legitimize at least my part in this thread on this forum: I think we need to know who's being cut to make room for Bennett on the roster first before we can speculate. I would imagine for the next few weeks the depth chart will be ever changing, based on how well they do in practice, and how quickly Bennett learns the offense.

There's probably only an outside chance Graham won't still be #1 this week @ Lions. If everything goes well for Bennett and the Bucs after he shows up, if he picks up the basics and does well in practice, week 8 vs. Jaguars is likely the earliest we can expect Bennett to make any meaningful contribution.

Fantasy note: If you need a RB, you might wanna grab Priest before anybody else does. Bennett or any other Bucs RB doesn't have any real FF value right now.

I expect Bennett to get limited touches the next 2 weeks, probably in the 5-10/game range.

I then expect him to start for the Cardinals game in 2 weeks. Hopefully he takes the job and runs with it...

Otherwise a Graham/Bennett platoon is likely.

He won't dress until after the bye week. They're not going to throw him out there with no knowledge of the playbook whatsoever. It takes at least 3 weeks just to learn the basics.

My guess it that they will teach him the 3rd down back role 1st. He could have the most impact there. Maybe he could play a few snaps against AZ.

um... dunno about that... he'll get a handful of carries just to "test the waters"

but he won't be in a bulk nor in any passing plays except maybe as a mild decoy...

there's no way we trade for a guy mid-season and not get him in some snaps... at least on the field...

not 4-5 weeks from now

This is the most likely scenario.

Graham will remain the starter for now and get the majority of the carries. If Bennett shows that he has what it takes to start over Graham (and he will get plenty of chances to prove it), I'd expect him to be our starter in a few weeks. Either way, Bennett and Graham will likely be sharing carries for the remainder of the season.

I'm excited to see what Bennett's speed will add to this offense. We haven't had a running back with his quickness since Dunn. Hopefully he can have that kind of success too.

as others have said... I'd just be happy with seeing the chains move more and have more opportunities to score...

See: Vinny T/Panthers

He led them to victory after only 4 days with the team. On top of that the QB position is a lot more difficult to pick up than RB.

I would too...

The Pittman/Graham combo ended much too soon. They were our best bet on having a decent running game all season. Let's just hope this Bennett thing works out (and Pittman returns in a timely manner).

The Bucs dropped Lionel Gates to make room on the
roster for Bennett. I don't think Bennett gets too many
carries against the Lions. But, he may get a couple of passes
thrown his way. Depends on how quick he picks it up.

He has to learn some plays before he can start. I would be suprised to see him more than once or twice vs the Lions. Obviously if he does produce with the touches he gets, his work load will increase.

The way I see it, Graham will be the starter at least two more weeks. If he doesn't grab hold of the opportunity, it will be back to special teams.

Didnt Bennett play in the WCO in Minnesota under Denny Green? Shouldnt take him too long to get up to speed.

Calling Gruden's Hot Mess Offense a 'WCO' had Bill Walsh turning in his grave before he even died. Bennett has to come in and basically learn to speak Klingon before he can play.

I agree.. I hope he gets some playing time this weekend..Maybe not as much on passing downs..I'd rather see Graham blocking but I'd like to see him take it up the middle a for a few times..
