View Full Version : Criticism for a trade

As commissioner in one of my leagues, I set the trade review clause to my very own yay or nay. Up until now, I've had no one complain about my decisions.

Someone is complaining that I sent RB (Cin) Kenny Watson for QB (Ari) Kurt Warner and obviously accepted my own trade. Their reasoning is that the guy getting Watson received the good end of a lopsided trade. Do you agree?

Here are the facts in my eyes:

- Kenny Watson had really good numbers as of late for a RB (3 TDs gained in the Jets game though so his stats are semi-skewed), but is set to ride the pine when Rudi Johnson returns from his hamstring injury

- The guy receiving Watson is currently short at RB since Henry didn't play and looks like he won't play at some point later in the season due to suspension, so at the very least he has a body to plug a slot for another week or two until Rudi is ready to go and Watson is relegated to a situational role

- Watson was #3 on my RB depth chart when he was starting (start 2 RBs, 1 flex position)

- Warner was #4 on his depth chart (start 2)

- Kurt Warner is not a great FF option at QB, but he is not a terrible option either since he has many, many, many weapons to toss to (Fitz, Boldin, Edge, etc)

- I am weak at QB... currently holding Eli, Griese, and an injured Bulger... ALL of which have BYES this week. So I picked up Kellen Clemens and traded for Warner to fill my two QB slots in week 9

So to sum up... one player gets a starting RB for a short period of time while he's weak at RB and one player is getting a QB for this week and he might make it as my second QB for a few weeks depending on the matchup preferences.

Lopsided trade in favor of the user getting Watson? :confusedr

Frankly, I find it unfair when a commish always accepts his own trades......

I also think its unfair when the commishioner DECLINES trades for his own good........

Why would you set it so you decide the trade in the first place??? Make it so the whole league votes yes or no...

...could've avoided everything...

League votes are unfair a lot of times as well......

A few times when I was in leagues with league votes, people would veto for the heck of it....

I am not a cheater, nor do I make unfair decisions. The fact that half the players in this particular league don't pay attention makes a league vote on a trade review pointless. Also, this way avoids the possibility of alliances and those irritating douches that veto everything.

Edit: and the fact that it's taken until week 9 for someone to complain about a trade (which I feel is fair and I assume most posters here will agree) should tell you something about my decisions

...and raises this problem...

No it's not an unfair trade...no matter what trade you make there will be somebody that complains since you have control...

... which I'm completely fine with. One nitpicking troublemaker doesn't invalidate the concurrence of the rest of the people who take the league seriously.

A few more opinions never hurt, especially when getting them is easy enough as punching a few keystrokes on the BBB.

This has been a problem in my league this year. One of the people came out and said that since he was there to win, he was voting against any trade that he felt helped either team. And that was his sole criterion for deciding whether or not to vote against a trade.
