I was looking into buying a new PC game,
does any one have any suggestions on fairly new games they've tried
keep in mind the last game i played on my PC was Diablo 2
I thought about Elder Scrolls:Oblivion or Hellgate:London
those seem like my type of game My computer specs are:

Windows Vista
AMD turion 64 X2 1.80 ghz processor
1918 mb RAM
ATI Radeon x1270 video card
(is my system up to snuff for these types of games?)

Thanks for any help!

I still play America's Army.

Good game for free.

Seems many are going to Call of Duty 4.

Well for starters Hellgate claims to need a 2.0 ghz or higher if using Vista... just a thought.

Oblivion is one hell of a game. :)

I am leaning toward Oblivion but I'm worried that it wont run on Vista.
i did some research and am getting mixed reviews some people say it works on Vista others say it wont. I kinda regret getting Vista now! does anyone on here play Oblivion on Vista?

I run Oblivion on Vista, it's fine.

I'm enjoying COD 4.

I play on the 360, but I know someone who plays on vista. It looks the same to me.

edit: my disc got scratched so I'm going to buy a new one today. Make sure you get the game of the year edition.

I'm finally getting used to writing postS directly on my screen w/ the stylus! Yay!

If you dont mind paying to play get World of Warcraft. Highly addictive but very fun. 8 million people couldnt be wrong, if you want more info about it send me some mail.
Another new game coming out is called Warhammer is more of a player vs player based game, dont think that has come out yet.

The thing about Oblivion is that the world is so big and all the missions and side missions will take a long time to finish. It is a beauty to see if you have a good graphics card. I stopped playing it because my auto-save messed up and it can't be recovered.

The Half Life 2 episodes are also good along with Portal. Bioshock is an awesome eye candy video game. Battlefield 2 is always a great free online multi player game to get into. Battlefield 2142 is good eye candy and leans more on the eye candy for your graphics card. Company of Heroes is a good strategy based game. A lot of seat time will be taken away from you with this game if it is your cup of tea. Prey is also a great Alien themed first person shooter game. I suggest you go on to FilePlanet.com and download the demo version of those games and try them out before you buy them. Good luck on your purchase.

I don't play pc games much, but based on the 360 versions, and what I've heard from PC users, Bioshock and Oblivion would be my first two recommendations. Both are really solid games.

If you want to have a life, stay away from WoW. Trust me.

Also Crysis just came out and that game looks sweet!!!!

Oblivion is a long game, but it's soo worth it i force myself to stop playing for months at a time so it will stay fresh, i have been playing it for almost two years now and have 250 hours logged into it.

I just started playing again today and i gotta tell you, getting the GOTY edition rocks. Believe it or not, the graphics seem fine tuned, and the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine included is well worth the money. There are also tons, i mean tons of things to download for the pc version, as well as the 360.

My favorite still has to be the Vampire's Lair, but checking out the new ownable castle today i was stunned.

I just started playing Bioshock. It is really cool how it's above and beyond any FPS i have ever played. It's original, the AI is really unpredictable, and there are just soo many ways to do things it gets really crazy.

The person who wrote the monologue and music for it is ingenious. Besides all that, the game is beautiful.

I know you asked for new ones, but some older ones that I like a lot that I believe all came out after diablo 2 (which is an awesome game in itself) so they would be new to you:
Evil Genius
Rise Of Nations
Age of Mythology
Age of Empires (I, II, or III)
Sid Meier's Pirates (its pretty cool and kind of a different game, though can get repedative)
Children of the Nile (again a different kind of game, but pretty fun)

That is all I can think of right now off the top of my head
