you want to compare which school has better LBs in recent history, USC or PSU?

and its pretty hard to make a mock if you haven't seen guys play atleast once

oh i didn't realize, usually people make comments like that about when they make their own mock, and don't comment about others comments like that

and yeah, its called linebacker U but that doesn't mean anything

FSU is called free shoes university but not all their athletes get free shoes.

you get my drift

I've supported Doucet a little bit in the past, but what has the guy done? Nothin. Possibly because he was injured, but that doesn't help his case either.

I cant see the Falcons passing on D Mac.

Which is bad news for us.

Darren McFadden sells tickets. He is the most exciting football player coming out of the SEC, and the Falcons, without steady production from Warrick Dunn, and Jerious Norwood not having seen much playing time, will no doubt go after McFadden. That franchise needs a face lift, and McFadden will do just that.

Yea, I did think about having the falcons pick mcfadden but then I figured, their need for a QB is just much more important than selling tickets, IMO. but I wouldn't be surprised if they made that choice.

well i went thru the current records and put them in order and the teams with the same record i put in order by division win percentage so if that's all it goes by then yea that should be the right order. :p I did my best with what little info I had.

And I felt the same way you did when I saw the pats pick dropping. I just don't want them to get McFadden so other than this week, I want to see the 49ers win!! lol

Me either.

If he's available at their pick, they take him. No question.

Me either.

If he's available at their pick, they take him. No question.

Unless he has an awesome combine, I think there's plenty of question....

I have a cut your nose to spite your face type feeling going on. If the 49ers can win out then it would become more of a midround pick. Of course that would mean we lose this week.

Then again, if its a super high pick, they have to pay the huge salary to an unproven rookie, and they need LBs badly. Could help put them in a cap crunch area.

if the pats feel linebacker is their biggest need (which it is) then they will just take one in the top 5 or 10, wherever they pick, and i dont see how it would put them in a "cap crunch era" to pay them what they r worth

The only question at this point, is who Atlanta will have as a head coach. That could change everything.

Miami seems to be a lock to take Dorsey #1. If Atlanta has the #2 overall pick, I can't see them taking anyone besides McFadden or Jake Long. Their OL is a complete disaster zone. They have a 500 year old RB, in Warrick Dunn, with Reggie Bush Jr., in Jerious Norwood, backing him up. While Leftwich, Harrington and Redman are all just bad.

Like I've posted before, I think that the Falcons really need.... above anything else..... is a player who can be the face of the franchise. With all that has happenned there.... they need a guy with superstar potential. Long, while I believe he'll be a very solid player, isn't going to excite. Brian Brohm and/or Matt Ryan play the position to "be" the face of a franchise..... but I don't think either has that superstar potential and both would be reaches at #2, IMO.

Falcons really are in a pickle. You have 3 pretty good QB's out this year, and potentially none next year. Tebow, if he declares (has already said he wants to play his senior year).... then Hunter Cantwell at Louisville and Chase Daniels at Mizzou. Todd Boeckman would round out a rather unspectacular bunch. RB's in '09 aren't even close to this year's group either. Chris Wells and Kevin Smith look to lead the pack, and Knowshon Moreno and CJ Spiller might declare early.

I'm rambling now...... but maybe I can envision Atlanta doing something like the Browns did with Joe Thomas and Brady Quinn.

Wait, I thought we were talking about Doucet.

I think Atlanta's hand is forced if McFadden is on the board. They need something to hang their hat on, and to bring fans back. It's McFadden or the top QB to me, they really have no other way to go. Long wouldn't really help them as much and wouldn't be the big name catalyst they need right now. Also, you seem to have forgotten Felix Jones who hasn't inquired about the draft yet, though I think he should go.

Really?

I thought for sure he'd be out, especially since Petrino got there. Wow. A bit surprising.

I do these mock drafts and now I can't wait 'til the draft, just to know who ends up picking who. But truth is, I just found out that I leave for Airforce basic training in March so I'll miss the draft anyways, which really stinks!! I've been looking forward to watching the combine and draft but now I can't. Maybe I'll have someone record it for me so I can watch it when I get home from tech school. lol. Anyone want to do that for me? :D
