The reason some were ragging on USF is becxause early in the season there was talk of a "national championship" ad nauseum on here. To the point that it was sickening to true sports fans who weren't looking through rose colored glasses.
While it's true as well that Gator Nation Fans wear the same rose colored glasses, some of them at least are able to recognize that you can not win with just offense alone, and a one sided offense at that.
Teams will stack the deck against Tebow next year and he will have to have supporting staff in order to win.

USF? Who knows how they will do but to be ranked #2 and then not even win in your own conference kind of verifies what some were saying, that the team was ranked that high based on a lucky win against Auburn and all the teams above them loosing. It had nothing to do with them being "that" good.

Finally, we all rag on other teams. It's what sports jerks do. We talk trash.

It's not that you were excited about being #2...it's that you actually thought you were the second best team in the country. Should you have been excited? Of course you should have. For the record, there was no smack from me. I based my 37-27 prediction off analysis that pointed towards the Big 10 not being as fast or intense as the SEC.

My cousin tries to make an attempt to understand the football stuff at least, yet usually gets it wrong. I still laugh, the last time Miami won the championship before that season he was saying "Why is Miami even ranked, they aren't that good. The gators have all these returning seniors and got these young prospects and blah blah blah so they should be ranked #1". He didn't say much the rest of the season.

Actually I am sure they do. You can look at Heisman and Pro Bowl voting just to see that and how voters are out of touch with sports.

Ahh but it is the difference because if you would have lost at the end of a hard fought close game we would have given you SOME flack but most would have congratulated you on a good game/season. BUT Oregon made your AMAZING defense and your QB who is better than Tebow look like a high school team. So all that smack every Bulls fan has been talking all season is coming back around to bite you in the ***. If you can't take the heat then stay out of the kitchen, I was here the same day USF beat UCF and I never complained about anyone giving me a hard time. Deal with it or go watch tennis.

In the end, RTB started this thread because he got too sensitive when people said bad thing about USF after they lost. USF is a Big Time program with high expectations, it's the kind of thing that happens when you play in a BCS conference. USF, this season contended legitimately for both the Big East and National Championship. USF will continue to do this. This is Big Time college football at it's finest.

Big Time enough that almost every non USF fan on this board had something to say about USF's loss...I enjoy that...

My defense was always it is a week to week ranking, they deserved to be #2 at the time they were ranked that, they choked it up from there. As I told people at the time who were hating, just because they are #2 now does not mean they are going to end up in history as the 2nd best team in the nation.

Every UCF fan that came back and manned up had to deal with all the **** they got from MOST USF fans and for the most part didn't complain.
