View Full Version : Dorsey falls to 20

At one point this off season, it was near impossible, now it seems he could drop late in the top ten or even teens because of a foot injury concern. Come Draft day, could we see another Brady Quinn(ish) miracle and see Dorsey falling into our laps? Pretty improbable and it usually only happens to QB's like Quinn, Rodgers, and Roethlisberger.
But hey, it could happen.

Last year Alan Branch was a sure fire Top 20 selection that fell to the 1st pick in the second round. Dorsey is to good to fall to the 20th selection. Unless his injury is serious enough to make him drop.
I would love to have him but I just isn't a happening thing

The 19 teams above the Bucs would be absolutely mental to let Dorsey drop to us. He was arguably the best pick in the draft a few weeks ago, now you say he may drop to 20?
It'll happen in the Bucs wildest dreams. If we spread a rumor about him smoking pot or something, it may happen. Outside of that, no.
The Bucs could conceivably trade up for him, which I would support. But the chances of that are astronomical.

That's actually not a bad idea. I think we should try it.

If he drops to the 20th pick, then his health issues are much worst
that what many have been led to believe. The question then would be
if the BUCS would pull the trigger on an injured Dorsey????

i expect atleast 1, maybe even 2 of the players projected as top 10 picks to fall into the teens, depending on who it is, we should definitely consider trading up

i think they would almost have to take dorsey if he were there at 20, maybe let him play in a rotation his first year, see how he holds up & then if all is well, plug him in as a full time starter by year 2

There are just way to many teams in front of us that could use Dorsey.
Even if he doesnt go top5: The Patriots have a history of trading 1st round picks. Look for teams to jump up to the 7th spot.
If that doesnt happen, there is no way the Bengals, Saints and Bills pass on him.

Like I said, it is definitely a stretch. But at the same time, like the Alan Branch example, anything can happen on draft day. I dont see us making a move to go up the draft ladder for a possibly injured DT. Not to say I wouldnt be against it either. I just dont see it being a smart move to trade up for him.
Dorsey goes in Top ten. If not there might be a chance.
In order of availability we should take Dorsey, then Kelly and finally Talib.

If Dorsey falls to 20, he's either dead or he brought a gun to the draft.

I hear Dorsey is a crackhead who's recently started experimenting with meth, and that he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound while on his way to the draft.
Memo to Bruce Allen & Jon Gruden - this is just a rumor, if he's available at #20 draft him

It happen in 1995!
Now let's keep fingers crossed! If this happens we give him Sapps Jersey and tell him to continue the legacy...but Marineli(sp) wont let it happen!

I'm pretty sure several players before the Draft last year were rumored to have smoked pot, including Gaines Adams........

There's a big difference between falling to #12...and falling to #20.

It was Adams, Calvin Johnson and two or three other guys. That's better than Pacman Jones, he was rumored to be smoking pot during his interview at the combine, which of course leads to the rumor that he snorted a line of coke before running his 40.

I think the question wasn't "Are you a pot head?" but more "Have you smoked pot before?"
What kind of college students haven't experimented with the "drug" they call marijuana?

Sorry, but all jokes aside, there's no way Glenn Dorsey is falling to #20.
Even if the WORST rumors about his bad knee turn out to be true, he still wouldn't fall out of the top ten. A team would stop his freefall and be more than willing to let him rehab for a year. With his talent (STILL the most talented player in the draft IMHO), his attitude (As good as you could ask for) and his position (arguably the most valued in the NFL at this point, outside of QB)...No way does he freefall that far.

If it's found that he has a chronic condition he could very well fall if it's discovered to be a debilitating condition in his right tibia area... didn't hear that it was his knee!
Just saying!

Was it his tibia? I thought I read it was a knee condition.
If so, my mistake!! Sometimes I hear a rumor about something, put it in my mind as fact, and don't bother to update my information when the details change.
And it doesn't change that ladies and gentleman, he's not falling out of the top ten!

In 95' if we had not taken him he would have feel 3 more spots to Indy @#15.... they took the next DT Ellis Johnson!

Sounds like it was just you and your pothead friends. I didn't, neither did the group of friends I hung with in college.
As an educator I have found that it is the pot users that can't believe that EVERYBODY is doing it or has done it at some time. I love the pothead reasoning, "Evrybuddy's doin it, man, it's like not even bad fer ya and stuff, jus the gubment tryin to keep us down, brah".

If the worst rumors about his knee were true, he would likely fall out of round 1. If it is determined that there was serious damage to the knee or that he has a condition in which the knee will undoubtedly deteriorate badly over time, he will definitely fall.
McGahee went late round 1 with a torn ACL, Brett Favre fell out of round 1 because they thought he had a hip condition that would worsen over time. There was little doubt that Marcus McNeill had mid 1st round talent yet fell in the middle of round 2 because of a neck condition that would shorten his career. Then there's guys that didn't fall... Kieith McCants supposedly had a knee problem that would hurt him longterm and he lasted all of 3-4 seasons with us...fell completely out of the NFL... and now he's a crackhead... the moral? Don't spend a top 5 pick on a player with a bad knee because he will become a crackhead.
