It's not bad. Man that home-field advantage thing is annoying though. Puts the emphasis on actually remembering the play. There's still some glitchy CPU problems, particularly when the ball is in the air but it's running a bit smoother. Players are still too upright when they run and running in general is kind of tough but maybe I just have to work on it.

players still seem pretty stiff but its come a long way. still think im leaning more towards the PS2 version though. i got madden 06, ncca 07 and madden 07 on 360 when they first came out and wasnt impressed. decided to go with ps2 for 08 just for gameplay. im not sure if im going ps3 or ps2 with the 09's though. still up in the air. have to see what the maddens are like before i decide.

They've just released the NCAA version now, since it comes out in less than a month. Madden isn't going to be released until August, so the demo for that will probably come out around the same time NCAA is released.

I took the opening kick back for a TD :)

Game play and graphics are slightly better (normal incremental stuff). Gang tackling has gotten better but too many people just still bounce off guys when they are engaged.

I took an INT back for a TD and got to celebrate with Brutus.

Hard to tell a lot from the demo, I hope they haven't tricked it up too much this year -- with unrealistic momentum, home field advantage and choosing what to improve during T.O.'s.

I am looking forward to an on-line dynasty mode. The PS3'ers on here should set one up!!!

BossFalcon -- thanks for posting this, I never look in the download section

I think the tackling has gotten a lot better. They have some pretty nifty collision effects and the bouncing isn't as rampant.

The two major problems I have are momentum and on the move blocking. Player stances when they run are still way too upright and way too stiff. When I run in the open, it still has that NFL Blitz feel where you're kind of running on air and not really ever planting your foot on the ground and I feel it's because they're still using that stuuupid engine from like 2004.

It's strange because all the Madden clips have now implemented this momentum feel but the NCAA hasn't. Different teams I suppose.

The problem with the blocking on the run is that sometimes the blockers will get to the defender and execute a realistic looking push but most of the times they'll sync into that engage mode where the blocker and defenders lock arms and it's sooooo annoying to watch.

I will say this though. They've gone quite a long way on blocking in the O-Line. It's greatly improved and they've added quite a lot of blocking/spin move combos.

All of this is pretty much true. I cannot stand watching the players "run on air" when FIFA, Madden, All-Pro Football etc... have all conquered the "planted foot" animation. It's really frustrating.
The same goes for the blocking as you mentioned.

And lastly, Madden and NCAA have different teams working on them to the point where they could nearly be separate games (which they are, but you know what I'm saying).

I really hope they fix a lot of stuff before release (the pixelated crowd too).

Anyone throw an INT and get "the quiz"?

You have to identify which play the defense ran, three options, if you choose incorrectly you lose composure

pretty neat

comeback patterns still worthless -- receiver still "lunges" back 4 or 5 yards even if he was completely stopped when you throw it
