Has a SNES (Ess-Ness, we called it back then) in college. Played about 753 hours of Final Fantasy III on that thing.
Anyone else that old?

I still have SNES and several games. I have the very first Madden to, and wow is it crazy to look at it then and compare it now. I even have my old Nintendo but I don't think it works anymore. Duck Hunt was the greatest other than Mario of course. Never got into FF back then but everyone use to play it.
I have an original NES, and it still works great despite looking like **** and in horrible condition.
...I still love it and play Mario 1 2 and 3 frequently.
I skipped the SNES and Sega and didn't buy another console until the Ps1...
...I have every sony console since.

Still have both the NES and SNES in my parents' closet. They both still work too. Was never a RPG fan, but had a ton of games for each. Metroid was a big fav of mine and of course I had all the Mario series for both systems. I have the Madden as well and it just makes me chuckle at the simplicity of the game, but we had a blast.
When I got my NES for my BD in 1988 it came with two controllers, the laser gun, and a combo game with both Super Mario and Duck Hunt. All that for like $100. The systems today don't give near that with their packages today.

I got SF II for my 12th BD in 1992. My best friend and I played that game all day and all night that entire weekend. I couldn't get enough. Even by today's standards that game looks fantastic on SNES considering the technology.

I have the NES, the no SNES. Then the Sega Genesis, followed by the Sega CD.
Then I got the PS.
I got the PS2 when it came out.
Now between me and my kids we have the PS3, wii, and my oldest son has my old PS2 which was hacked to play back-up games.
Back to Old School...Did anybody have an Atari Lynx or NeoGeo?
My friend had a NeoGeo and a big screen TV. We had SO much fun at his house.

Through my life the game systems I had were Magnavox Odyssey (the first console), Atari Pong, Atari Stunt Cycle then the 2600, Mattel Intellivision, Sega Genesis, Sega Master System, Panasonic 3DO (Road rash ruled), SNES, PS1 then started playing the PC games, haven't gone back to console although the family has a wii, i don't play it much.

I played so much Chrono Trigger and FF3 it's pretty sad.
...I swear I wasted six months of my life if I totalled up how many times I played those games. I think I'm the only one who has seen every ending in Chrono Trigger... Because I played it through EVERY TIME.

You all are too young... I remember playing Donkey Kong... in the arcades... years before they even had dreamed of a home version... :rotf:
They had two models... one you stood up to play... and one where you sat down. The sit down version was superior in graphics and clarity. I remember being 15 and working at a pizza restaurant and every Friday, after close, we'd have Donkey Kong tournaments... and there were about 8 of us that played all the time.
We'd have games over 300 or 400 thousand, which was a lot. The average DK player then would get around 150,000...
Pizza... music... Donkey Kong... ah yes, the innocent days of youth...

As far as old goes, I was gaming back on a Pong console, as well as my Commie 64 with the 1541 drive and a Vic 300 modem.

Tecmo Super bowl on the SNES: Steve De Berg to Lawrence Dawsey on the 80 yard go route. TD everytime or dump it off to ron hall or vince workman.
I was 5 when i got the Nintendo and mario bros. IF you look back and play a bunch of those games now, you will realize most games were TOUGH AS **** for almost any age. I mean seriously, who can beat ninja turtles ? It was so damn hard ! I didnt beat it until a couple years ago, lol.

I started off has a kid playing Astroids and Pong on the Atari 2000
Moved onto NES and played many titles, my favorites were Tecmo Bowl (Bo Jackson was a BEAST), Mike Tyson Punch-Out and of course Contra
When SNES came out I only remember playing Super Tecmo Bowl
High School was when the N64 was popular and I played alot of Golden Eye.
I played primarily football games on PS1 and PS2 until Socom came out, since then I have been a So-crack addict who dabbles with Madden during football season.

ohh yeah! this thread is the bomb. I started with the Magnavox Odyssey, then went to the NES, SNES, PSOne, PS2, and now i only own a WII for family purposes. But I did emulate and mod every game for both the NES and SNES because those systems never get too old in my opinion.
And regarding the original question, was FF3 the Mystic Quest one? I burned up a lot of time on that one.

I just recently got rid of my Atari Lynx, I HAD most of the systems but either sold them or get rid of them. I plan on getting some of them back, or maybe will just download them on the Wii. If they exsist.

I had a CelecoVision. :rotf: Seriously!
We had an Intellivision...equally as pitiful!
Tecmo Super Bowl for the NES stands above almost everything of the NES era. But man, they sure did have a ton of crappy games. It's not like we had internet reviews to tell us if the games were any good before we bought them. Drop $40 bucks for a cartrige (a lot of money in late 80's dollars) and half the time the games were terrible. :rotf:

I am right with you on that one. But I think I was about 754 hours. :D
My son and I play Final Fantasy X all the time now, along with X-2 & XII. I love those games.
I actually have an orginal NES, a SNES, a N64, a Gamecube, Xbox, Xbox360, PS2, PS3, Wii, Sega Genesis & an Atari.
I am currently looking for an Intellivison & Colecovision. I have been scanning Ebay & there are some on there.
I guess I need to get an original PS, as well. I have thought about getting a Dreamcast, just for the heck of it.
All of the systems work and I play them occasionally. I got my son hooked on the original Zelda. Back in the day, that one had a lot of hours logged on it too.
Old enough for ya?!
