I just bought this game about two weeks ago and I'm completely addicted. It's a PC based game made by Sega.

You are essentially the coach of any team in the world -- literally thousands of teams to choose from. You are in charge of everything from transfers (acquiring players, loans, releasing players) to training (allocate time spent by each player) to contracts to setting friendly schedules to maintaining and controlling bugets to tactics (formations, aggressive vs. defensive, who makes runs, who does corners, etc). The level of detail is mind-boggling. You even give half-time and full-time speeches and you can criticize your players, or even the other teams coaches.

You can watch the games be played (players are dots on the small field) if you want to make changes as the game goes on (subs, change tactics, etc) or you can just quick sim it.

I started with Torquay United -- I know a dreadful team but that is the local team I watched growing up. They started in the Conference (Blue Square Premier) and in two seasons I worked them up to League 1 but am now getting my butt handed to me. My highest priced player is valued at 60K pounds and I'm competing against teams who have multiple players valued at well over a million. I'm just trying to avoid relegation until some of my "bad" contracts free up some space to bring in some decent talent.

Anyway, thought I would share the info. Love the game.

Here is a creenshot from my 2nd season -- look, I signed 38 year old Andrew Cole :)

The line-up was from my last game of the season, it was essentially meaningless so I just put in all my subs.
