You play every week
Three flights. A (Pick two) top tier players, B (Pick four) middle tier, C (Pick two) up and coming players

Then activate between those the players in your foursome (1 from A and C, 2 from B).
You can switch the players activity between days but only those in the original selection. Each time you activate a player, it counts as a start.
Be careful about after Friday, as some players do not make the cut.
You get points each day for leader and then strokes off leader.
Bonus points at the end for first three places.

Yahoo will mark players with NE (not entering) and MC (Missed Cut) so you will be able to know who you can play.

You can only start a player 10 times in a year, so be careful about burning out Tiger (for example).


It is a MARATHON as you will be in this for 30+ tournaments, so no one is out quickly. Just keep up .. that is all I ask.

We will also track winners every week (we did this last year). I will do this separately. You will get one point for getting the most points that week.

OK, sounds easy enough.

However, I usually only watch the Majors and am not the most familiar with PGA golfers outside of the names you always hear, i.e., Sing, Woods, Michelson, Garcia, etc.

Guess what I'm asking for here is a little help. Strategy-wise, I mean.

Also, any websites that offer good info on fantasy golf would be cool too. With articles, preferably.

It's actually fairly simple .. they will list the golfers who will be playing.

They also have four different guys who also pick against the group. It is always good to follow their lead on the B and C players ...

Always look at history (ie . they someone did last year) as well as how they are performing once the year starts. Yahoo tracks top 10 finishes, total money, and total points they have earned, so after a little bit, you can pretty much start picking from the top.

Take some chances, and always have a go to guy (for example Sergio was strong last year).

For sites, I would look at www.pga.com when the season starts, along with the site for the tournament. Yahoo has the link to that when it comes.

Keep up the questions. I think the season starts in early January.

Please validate that ALL players are playing .. you can change your starting line ups every day .. so don't give up

If you are still interested in playing, jump on ... missing one tournament will not affect you ..

Yahoo is also giving prizes this year .. Dozen Golf balls for weekly winner and trips for each season (Winter/ Spring / Summer).

No . its all on the round they shoot and where they finish (bonus).

Each day 20 points is given to the THAT DAYs lowest round. Then they subtract 2 points for each stroke and award all players at that level and on and on and on.

At the end of the tournament, as long as your player started at least one round, if the finish 1st [20] , 2nd [10] , or 3rd [5], you get the points in the brackets.

I haven't buddy. Been working six ten-hour days a week. Usually asleep about an hour after I get home! LOL.

And on top of that, the alarm in my Palm Treo stopped working, so the weekly Wednesday reminder doesn't go off anymore! GRRRR.

Don't know when the 60 a week is gonna slow down, but I hope to be getting an iPhone in a couple of weeks, so that should help a bit once I put it in the calendar. :grinyes:

On a side note, was at the grocery store the other day and passed by the magazine rack, and saw that the fantasy football publications are on the stand! WOOHOO! It's getting closer!

SPECIAL DEADLINES THIS WEEK: Because the British Open Championship tees off at 6:30am local time (10:30pm PT) on Thursday, July 16th, the deadline to select golfers is earlier than normal this week. You must set your roster by 10:30pm PT, Wednesday, July 15th. The deadline to set your active foursome for each subsequent round will also be 10:30pm PT the night before each round is due to begin. This change applies only to the British Open and will not affect deadlines for other tournaments
