Last year around this time I took a premature guess on who would win the NCAA Basketball championship. I chose Kansas. I saw them play a few times, saw their talent and all of the depth that they had on the bench. I said that they would upset North Carolina if they ever got to play them.. I would of posted it on here but I had never heard of this board and you can call me a lier all you want but it really happened. I am not posting this to brag even though it was a great choice that early in the season but I am here to take another guess. Right now I cannot really see anyone beating UNC. They just look unbeatable. The blow out the teams they should blow out and win the tough ones. But Im not just going to choose the most likely team to win because that would be just too boring. If I had to choose a team to upset them I am going to have to say Pitt. I dont know why but I look at them and they are very good. Ive only seen them a few times but they seem to me the most likely team to upset UNC if they ever play them. Ill make sure to bump this if I am right at the end of the season. Do you see anyone upsetting UNC.

so you're picking UNC to win it all? really stretching huh?

last year you picked a kansas team? the team that was never lower than 7th in the country, but only 3 weeks were spent outside the top 5...

wow, watch out **** Vitale....

Yah I know Kansas was never ranked that low but not many picked them to be able to beat an almost undefeated Memphis team AND North Carolina. North Carolina was a favorite last year along side of Memphis. So I think Kansas was an unpopular pick. And this year I said if there is going to be an upset it will be by Pitt. Right now people are talking about UNC going undefeated. They have a veteran and a great team so me picking Pitt who is ranked 3rd or 4th is even going on a limb.

I would say Villanova looks like a pretty legit contender to me! I'm a duke fan  and man Villanova made the best coached team in America look like a bunch of scrubs. Their physical defense and superb dribble penetration offense looks awfully hard to stop, especially when they put every big man on a team in foul trouble. Nova looks nice but man if I was going to pick a sleeper team to win it all I'd have to go with Mizzou. If they can get past UCON I'll go out on a limb and say they are my pick.

Nova has a great D, but we shot horribly, and I don't think that was all the result of the D. Everyone missed open shots, and G never broke out of his slump like I thought he would. No way we were going to win that game with G and Scheyer shooting 4-32 (incredible). Ah well.

I think Pitt and Nova have a great chance at the title, though in my bracket I have Louisville winning it all. Let's hope the Zags can at least give UNC a good game tonight.

Ive actually been to some Nova games up in Philly and I am routing for them but I dont think they will beat Pitt. I know they dont win pretty but they do win. Im sticking with my pick from a few months ago and sayin Pitt wins it all.

Duke needs an actual post presence. It's no coincidence that they haven't gone deep since Sheldon Williams was there. They didn't have so much of a problem with their horses being tired at the end of the season like in years past (Reddick, Singler), but if you've got NO threat to score inside, you become ridiculously easier to defend. They have the good Plumlee coming in next year, so we'll see how that works out. Hopefully for them, better than Josh McRoberts or Shavlik Randolph.

Missouri has surpised me this tounrament. They've been fun to watch all year, but I honestly didn't see them getting to the Elite 8. DeMarre Carroll is such a big transfer for them, and one of my favorites to watch this year.

This Kansas vs Michigan State game is pretty good. There is only 2 minutes left and it is 60-58 Kansas, but Michigan State has the ball.

Every other game today has been a blow out...

Oh yeah, no question. No one I knew (myself included) gave Duke much of a chance this year because of what you mentioned. To be honest, they did better than I expected. Hopefully, one of the Plumlees or Ryan Kelly will give us a little of that inside presence next year, but I have my doubts :(

Yea we shot horribly, I couldn't even watch after about 10 mins into the second half. I was getting very frustrated at Duke's offense, it seemed to me like no one other than Scheyer, Henderson, or Singler was even attempting to score and Nova knew it! I also feel that Nova's athleticism and strength completely wore down Duke, it was just hard to watch :(
Can't wait until next year when duke will actually be getting some talent and depth at the PF and C positions, 2 skilled bigs for Coach K to mold into greatness!!!

A little bright note after a disappointing end to the season...Seth Curry, Stephen Curry's little brother and the highest scoring freshman in the country, is transferring to Duke. He'll be eligible for the 2010-2011 season.

Go Tar Heels!!

The NCAA tournament is the complete opposite of every other sport's playoff. In a good way at first, then a bad way at the end. Maybe it's because you've got 65 fanbases still in it at the start, but it just seems like that first thursday and friday of games has so much more anticipation than the championship game. Thats really weird. Last year's game was great, but this year's doesn't seem like that big of a deal. Kinda like when Florida won the year they didn't beat Greg Oden and OSU.

I was born and raised in Charlotte and my grandfather and mother are graduates of UNC. If you're not from Carolina It's a family thing that trumps anything else. My grandfather, god rest his soul, is doing carwheels tonight in heaven.

My USF roots are quite recent on the football side and come from my wife who has 2 degrees from USF.

Just sayin...

i tend to root for local players if i don't have a team in it.

jawad williams and the last UNC team to win it made me happy but watchin Delvon Roe and his Spartans get blasted was dissappointing

Well, I told my best friends (who go to UNC) before the season began that if UNC doesn't win the championship, they gave it away. As much as I hate to say it, the best team won this year.
