I would get eddie royal and tim hightower and he would get the 2nd overall pick, which is either crabtree or wells, or maybe moreno? or would me giving him the 5th overall pick be a steal?

don't make that trade......

Royal is good but with Shannahan gone, you don't know how the offense is going to trade...

Gotta agree with dawg here. Plus, you know it's not likely for Royal to jump Marshall in production. So you're looking at a 2nd, maybe 3rd tier WR, which can be had at any time for a reasonable price. And Hightower isn't really gangbusters, he was a rich man's goalline back. The Cards seem destined to get a back in the draft to replace Edge, so if that player does pretty well he could very well take away some of those short TDs Hightower saw.

The pick is riskier, but you've got a chance at an elite WR if Crabtree goes well or a very productive back if Wells or Moreno goes to the right place. Young top backs have a surprisingly high hit rate, and they have a chance at turning into a Portis or Lynch who have high value year to year, which Royal and Hightower don't seem to have the potential to be.

agreed with both posters -- don't make that trade unless you are extremely weak at both RB and WR.

well right now I'm pretty questionable at rb, but wr im doing alright:

Rb:
Raiders trio (McFadden, Bush...other guy)
Larry Johnson
Darren Sproles

Wr:
Larry fitz
Calvin Johnson
bernard berrian
Robert meachem

the rest of my team is great though, except for te where I only have winslow..

It seems that you aren't lacking too much depth, so I wouldn't make the trade. I'd try to get the superstar in the draft.

Now that McDaniel's the HC, Royal production could go up as more teams may double cover Marshall

I'm not convinced about Hightower though. I'd probably decline the trade

yeah already decline the trade, probably gonna draft crabtree 2nd overall. Now my bigger problem is should I stick @ the 5th pick or try and move up to the 3rd overall?

I don't really know if I'd take Crabtree. You've got plenty of time before the rookie draft I'm sure. Gotta watch where backs go. Like Forte and Smith last year.

I'd go for the move up. Better your chances at guys who have the ability to turn elite. Then, you're guaranteeing your chance at a top back and it would also give you more of an ability to take Crabtree instead of just hoping one of the top backs fall to 5. Basically, if you move up, you got Crabtree, if not it's 50/50 (IMO) with a back in a good situation.
