What games are you all looking forward to this year? There are quite a few games expected to release this year amid high expectations, so I'm sure we'll see a good number of quality games.

Here's my list (in no particular order):
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
I Am Alive
Borderlands
APB
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2
Backbreaker

My list will probably grow as we get more exact release dates for titles, but things are looking pretty good right now. Riddick's Pitch Black multiplayer mode looks ridiculously cool.

I haven't tried it yet, and I'm not sure I will. The RE games aren't really my thing.

I did try the Skate 2 demo today, though, and it was good, but a little difficult for me. I'm trying to figure out whether or not the full game has captions before I make a decision on whether or not to buy it, though.

aw man I love skate 2 really good game. I'm into skateboarding so it was worth the $60 but if your not really into it I'd say rent it before you buy it

also looking forward to street fighter 4 but I have a feeling that it will be disappointing and people will realize that it's just street fighter 2 with better graphics cause that's the feeling I'm getting with that game.

Forgot about that one.

I recently applied for a job with the company making that game, too. ;)

If we're going to list MMOs, Jumpgate Evolution looks really, really cool, too. One of my former classmates is on the development team for it.

God Of War 3
FIFA
Resident Evil 5

I didn't know Backbreaker comes out this year. Haven't seen too much about it except for some videos showing off the engine. I am looking forward to it when it comes out though.

Well, it's still "TBA 2009," so it might get pushed back. I'm excited for it, just for what it means for the genre if they can pull it off. However, we haven't seen much actual gameplay footage, so if it's just a bunch of minigames with no real football mode, I'll be sorely disappointed.

It's one I've got my eye on, though.

Happened to check this right before I was planning on playing skate 2.
Just checked, on the 360 you can have subtitles.

What about Little Big Planet, i know it's not that new, but anyone have it yet? Is it worth buying used?

That and Fable 2, anyone?

Can you go a little more into it than it's just a good game?

Fable 2 is a very good game, but it has two underlying problems:

- The main storyline is extremely short. You could probably beat it in two or three sittings if you ignored all of the sidequests.
- It's probably the easiest RPG I've ever played. I only came close to dieing once and that was about halfway through the main storyline. In fact, in my entire time playing it, I only used 4-5 potions.

With that said, it's still a fun game and, if you're interested in achievements, the game will suck up a whole heck of a lot of your time, since many of them require a lot of grinding or questing.

Sounds worth a cheaper used price then, thanks! :)

I agree. If I could do it again knowing what I know now, I'd probably have waited for the price to drop (or just traded for it on Goozex), but it's still a good game.

Also, keep in mind that 2-3 sittings for me is about 8 hours of gameplay, so that my vary for you. ;)
