What is the general consensus after watching his combine performance?
Second fastest 40 time in his position.
Second tallest Vertical.
Longest broad jump.
He seemed to find the ball in the air pretty easily and made some nice adjustments on some tough catches. The guy has all the red flags of being a workout warrior/ track star... but maybe he is putting things together at the right time. Do you trust Mann to coach up another raw prospect, or does his past make you want to pick up someone more polished?
I think he may be available in the 4th... he could sneak into the first day for those teams willing to bet on speed. As a value pick in the 4th, I love the idea.

He performed real well. May have moved himself up a round.
As far as us.... if we're going to be taking a WR, I'd prefer him to be a more polished product than a pure athlete.

I get what you are saying, DE... but if you are lucky enough to get this guy in the 4th or 5th round... how polished would any receiver be?
He needs to improve his route running... but the guy is strong, fast, durable, and confident... without being undersized.
The first person to compare him to Steve Smith qualifies for an upper decker.

I like 60 Minutes as much as the next guy, but a 90 year old wide receiver?

At the point where Mike Wallace may go, I... personally.... have started taking a liking to Jarrett Dillard. His route running is as crisp as any pass catcher this year and he catches the ball very well. Maybe big guy Ramses Barden. Some people like athletes better at the position, but those two things, for me, is what sets WR's apart. Not saying one way is better than the other, just a preference.
But like you said, Wallace is somewhat of a project that probably shouldn't be thrown to the fire. I wouldn't be ecstatic over him if we picked him, but I wouldn't think it was a bad pick either.

I'll go ahead and admit it, I wanted DeSean Jackson last year... while you (IIRC) were clamoring for Eddie Royal.

I never thought Jackson would amount to a whole lot, but he landed on a team that used his talents and didn't ask him to do things out of his comfort zone.
Dillard reminds me a bit of Royal. Just about the same size, and have many of the same traits.
Stoopid Dexter Jackson....

I completely agree. I want the Bucs to pick him up in a later round also. He's football intelligent, has good hands, can run all the routes, and can jump out of the building (42 in vert). He's a reliable receiver that uses his excellent route running to separate rather than just straight line speed.
