I'm not a fan of 1st round QBs. I don't think we'll get one.

As I'm digging through scout reports and stats of the later round QBs looking for a gem I come across one I really liked. Just something about him tells me he's going to be a success. I'd like to go on record now calling him Tom Brady 2.0. Maybe no HOF, but late round to great starter story in the making. I usually think these threads silly. If he succeed I can forever quote this as my ability to scout gem talent and maybe land an overpaid cushy job like Kiper. If I'm wrong it falls forever into the forum abyss.

John Parker Wilson

I don't think it will be us, we already have our gem project in JJ. However, some team is going to luck out and be pleasantly surprised when their starting QB gets hurt and this kid steps in to take the job.

I would be shocked if he developed into a solid NFL starter. But only time will tell.

Brodie Croyle 2.0 is much more likely.

I saw in a movie or book once that people that are known by their first, middle and last names statistically become killers.

Yesterday I went through most of the quarterbacks in this years draft, researching them and hoping to find a hidden gem. If there is one, I'll be hanged if I can spot him.

Even if Stafford by some miracle dropped to us, I don't care to take him.

But THAT happening would actually let Mike Shula (our favorite all time OC here in Tampa Bay) say he helped develop a productive quarterback.

Anything Mike Shula touched at QB has turned to garbage. Croyle and Wilson were just the college victims of being highly recruited kids sent to the Shula QB chamber.

I'll never forgive him or his midget younger brother for being on that douchebag MTV show.

It's the obvious comparison, and I'm not just talking about the jersey. Wilson is about 6'2 210...Croyle is about 6'2 208...Both were decent college QBs with iffy arms who have no special skills which would lead one to believe they'll succeed at the next level.

The big difference is, I don't see Wilson getting overdrafted by 3 rounds like Croyle was. There's a reason Carl Peterson got fired.
