OK... so after having '05 (XBox) for years and playing it all of about 5 times I finally bought a 360 from a friend and it happened to have '08 in the stack of games he threw in on the deal.
Problem is, I have no clue (and no manual) about the basics of gameplay. I have a pretty decent knowledge of football "theory" and playbooks having actually played the game. So I think eventually I'll figure it out.
So my question is... Can you guys point me to the best resource to learn the basics? And I mean, besides having my *** handed to me by a bunch of 12 year olds on Live a bazillion times. :rotf:
I'd kinda like to get some of it down before stepping into that arena.
Thanks in advance.

uhh... yea... thanks.
Actually, I was looking for a good source or three on the web that I could do some reading/studying on the game. Hopefully, that isn't too much trouble for someone?

If you've played one Madden...you've played them all...all the buttons are the same since 2005 (pretty sure) except for the hit stick.

Just like any good rookie ya gotta get out there and take your lumps. Play the CPU a few times til you get a feel for your team and then head out into the wilderness.

Madden NFL 08 Instruction Manual (http://www.replacementdocs.com/request.php?6408)
Madden NFL 09 Guide (http://guides.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/898062/Madden-NFL-09/index.html)
Game Hints From EA Sports (http://cheats.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/2007/Madden-NFL-09/#4275)
These may help you out as well.
The instruction manual is basically the exact same as 08 so it's the closest I could find for you. There should be some video manuals within the game, just look under some of the menus. I know they're in there. But the basic controls are still contained within the .pdf file I provided for you. Happy gaming.
If you ever wanna do some games online, add me: The Esklmo. It's an L not an I.
Just put that you're from TBBB in the message.

That and who the **** needs to "study" before playing Madden? This game is engineered so that any idiotic 10 year old can just pick it up and play....and be good at it.

Does it really matter? Did it bother you so much you HAD to post? Let the kid be. If others are willing to help don't worry about it. Go about your day.
