Someone offered me Marvin Harrison and Travis Henry for Peyton Manning, Tiki Barber and Koren Robinson.
Do I make this deal?
I have Brad Johnson as my backup QB. My other starting RB is LT. My other starting WR is Rod Smith (or Key or Jerry Porter).
Also, I have been offered Trent Green for the Chiefs. I have the Bucs as my main defense.
Do I make that deal?

No, you don't give up Manning, Barber, and Robinson for Harrison and Henry. Barber will have a better year than Henry. Yeah, Henry had a lot of early TDs but Buffalo's gone south and Barber's got much more upside going forward. Manning will always have better numbers than Harrision unless Harrison becomes the QB and Manning the receiver. (Now if you could work a deal where you get Harrison and get to keep Manning... :) )And though Robinson has cooled off lately he still is a premier wide out and you should hang on to him. In this scenario you're really just giving him away.
With Manning and Johnson as your QBs you don't need Green. Hold on to the Chiefs unless you can get another quality WR or RB for 'em.
With the team you appear to have you're probably in great shape W-L wise. So you don't want to make your competition stronger with any deals. Best to stay away from any trade that doesn't really help you out a great deal. Sometimes the best trade is the one not made.

I'm only 2-4. Robinson has killed me. And so has Manning, relative to Brad. Barber is not the #2 back I thought he would be. He can't find the end zone.
What about Peyton and Koren Robinson for Harrison?
That might be a better deal for me. Then, I can get Green as my backup QB if I want.

Brad should be your starter.

I wouldn't make the trade. Harrison is a great FF player, but Henry is doing pretty bad fantasy this year fantasy wise.
You have to make to big of an offer to get Harrison and the sub-par Henry.
I would make the trade for Green, especially as you have the Bucs. They should always be your starting defense.

Green is a rough fantasy player. He either has an amazing week or a terrible one. So it sucks when you start him and get 2 points then bench him and watch him put up 400 yards and 3 TDs. I have been looking to trade him because of this.

If you opt do to that, I would also trade the Chiefs for Green.
Manning isn't that great fantasy wise IMO.

IMHO, you'd be nuts to do this.
In a standard scoring league (6 pts for TD, 1 pt for 25 yds/passing, -2 pts for interception/fumble, 1 pt for 10 yds rushing/receiving) Manning and Robinson have combined for approx. 160 pts to Harrison's 94 and Robinson's been off so far and will only go up.
I'd have a hard time trading Manning for Harrison straight up.

C'mon, Dutch! If you don't think Manning is that great fantasy wise, who do you think is?
Only McNair has thrown for more yards (only 8 more at that) and he's tied with our man Brad with 12 TDs for the league lead. You can always count on him to throw the ball every game so the points will be there.
I'd keep Manning and Johnson - great insurance if either gets injured and I'd trade the Chiefs for a quality RB or WR.

In my league, you don't get passing pts until 200 yds. 200 yds is worth 4 pts and every 25 yds is worth 1 pt. INTs are -1 pt and INTs returned for a TD are -3 pts (Manning kills you on those). Passing TDs are worth 4 pts.
WRs don't get pts until 50 yds rushing/receiving. 50 yds is worth 2 pts and every 25 yds is worth 1 pt. TDs are worth 6 pts.
If I did not have decent backups, the deal would be silly, but I have Brad Johnson. And the deal would really be to get Harrison in for Koren Robinson. Robinson has been a huge dud so far. He is not getting yardage. And he is not finding the end zone. You can't just look at a trade based on the total pts exchanged. Besides, QBs are generally less valuable than WRs and certainly less valuable than RBs. There are few WRs now who find the end zone pretty regularly. Harrison is one of them.

I will never get a quality RB or WR for the Chiefs. People won't deal them for a defense.

Take away Manning's 6 TD game against the Aints and you'll see that Manning is just an average fantasy QB, who's avering about 240 passing yards and 1.2 TD's a game.
That isn't great IMO.

Take away Brad's 4 TDs against the 'Skins, take away McNair's 4 TDs against the Texans, etc. You can play that game all day long.
Like I said, if you don't think Manning is that great fantasy wise, who do you think is?

Since I may be the only person here to have Manning, I can honestly say he has not been very good as a fantasy QB this year. He has killed me in several games where Brad would have provided the margin I needed. Manning has not been getting too many yards and he really has not had a lot of TDs. I think that he has thrown for more than 1 TD just twice this year. Brad has done it almost every game. And Manning throws a fair amount of INTs. At this point, as crazy as it seems, I am going to start Brad over Manning.
Manning is still a decent fantasy QB, but he is not producing the way McNair, Brad and a few others are.

Well, knowing the scoring system certainly makes for a more informed decision. In your league QBs are not as important so this changes things quite a bit. That being said, maybe you deal Johnson and Robinson for Harrison. :) No matter how you look at it, Manning's going to throw more and score more for your team than Brad. Bucs are more likely to sit on the ball whereas Manning will air it out at any point in the game and if you can double up with Manning and Harrison then you're talking big points. Just my opinion.

Never said it was crazy to start Brad over Manning. I'm looking at the big picture - past, current, and potential production - and I feel that Manning has a greater upside than Brad. All things being equal, I'd pick Brad over Manning every day but I'm a Buc fan. I don't think you'd find too many non-Buc or non-Indy fans that would make that same decision.
I guess we'll see how it plays out soon enough. :) Whatever you do, good luck to you. Hope you can improve on that 2-4 record.
