View Full Version : If you could spend one game as one of the current Bucs, who would it be?

Ever seen the movie 'Being John Malkovich'?
For those that haven't, an unusual portal allows the characters of John Cusack, Cameron Diaz and others to literally inhabit the mind of actor John Malkovich and experience his life as if they were him.
Hypothetically, we're giving you that same option with any Buccaneer player this fall, except you can stay with that player for the entire game, whereas Malkovich's inhabitants were usually booted out quickly.
Who would you choose to be? Would you want to experience just what a John Lynch hit feels like on the giving end? Would you rather be downfield making plays with Keyshawn Johnson, or in the backfield sacking the QB with Warren Sapp? Maybe you'd like nothing better than to be at the center of the action as the quarterback. What's your choice?

It would have to be Dexter Jackson, last years free safety. I would be able to play with ronde, warren, derrick, simeon, and john. If there is a weak place on the bucs defense it is free safety. I wouldn't screw too much up either, cuz i would have some greats backin me up.

It would definitly be John Lynch! The impact of knocking someone into the middle of next( like Lynch usually does) has got to be an incredible rush!

I would be Coach Gruden.... that way, I wouldn't get injured (can't have that...) and I could rip into any of the guys who screw up during gameplay!

I guess the username gives it away. I would have to be my man Ronde. Not a bigger playmaker in the league last year. If not Ronde, I would be myself as the QB, because, even as a high school QB, I am already better than him!

This took a little thought, but I have to say Mr. Derrick Brooks. I was leaning towards Lynch, but Derrick is involved in a lot more plays. Granted, Lynch has this uncanny ability to put anyone he hits in a severe hurt locker, but Derrick is the one who usually delivers the most hits in a game.
Stecker, receiving the kickoff from the Saints to start the season and returning it for a touchdown.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot something. This is to the Falcon fan....You know, it is a-holes like you that gives your team a bad rap. And not to mention the fact that when we do beat your team, we love to remind people like you of certain comments you have made. My roommate happens to be a diehard Falcons fan, and there is the occasional ragging on each others team (especially during our Madden 2002 bouts, in which I have a commanding lead), but it never crosses the line. Hell, I hate the Packers with a passion, and I always remind my friends who like the Pack when we come out with the victory. But I'll be the first one to tell them that I have the utmost respect for Favre. So do everyone a favor, remember what bulletin board you are posting on.

It's a tough choice but I'd have to say Sapp during a packers game. I wanna know what him and Farve are actually saying in their frequent on-field meetings. That would be great...

No doubt about it I'd love to be onfield as Keyshawn. I've heard he's a big trash-talker and I want to know what exactly he says. Especially againts the Saints. At home. I also would love to be Key as he catches a fly and beats CB's and safties to make a TOUCHDOWN!!!

I would prefer to put myself in place of the player making the big play on each down.
I would be the Quarterback for the limelight and trade space with Brad Johnson as I would be the focus of all offensive plays until releasing the football.
Being a back would be cool trading space with Mike Alstott as I plow my way for a TD while towing 11 dangling defensive men.
As a receiver trading space with Keyshawn Johnson would bring a smile as I frustrate the defensive backs with my slick manuveors extending for a one handed grasp and then being creamed and knocked senseless.
Trading space with John Lynch would be as bad as I scope my sights on the tackle and bazooka my body head-first into the opponent guts and then watch as they carry him off the field hurrling and in pain.
Being Sapp I would use his patented move on the line to pentrate the wall as I quickly grasp, hug and land on top of the QB with the full impact of my body weight sandwiching the QB and pinning him to the ground like the piece of meat he is.
Being in Ronde Barber shoes would be like saying cheese to the camera all day as I out run and leap my opponents intercepting there intended pass, bust a couple moves and sprint for a 100 yard dash downfield for a touchdown.
Those are some reasons why I enjoy football so much as I get to re-live my life through theirs feeling the pains, sorrows, elations and joys of the game as I watch.

I'd have to stick with Hamilton. Yes, he is injured. However, he is also able to talk to all the players and coaches and still watch the action on the field. To me that would be the NFL experience of a lifetime.

Aaron Lockett. The guy's my size, and must be wondering sometimes what the heck he's doing on the same field with people like Ray Lewis, Michael Strahan, Jevon Kearse or whoever that safety was who broke Ed McCafferty's leg.
(At least, being on the Bucs, I wouldn't have to face the Buc's defense, but I guess they'd get their shot at me in training camp).
Unfortunately, I'm only slightly fast, whereas Mr. Lockett must be unbelievably freaking fast to be under consideration for this league. Oh yeah, and I got bad hands...
(This is starting to sound like a BAD dream...)
Hey, off topic for a second: CB Dale Carter ain't a Saint this year. That's too bad, cause we were going to beat N'Orleans twice this year anyway, but our WRs need some challenge before they go to the playoffs. Good thing our out-of-conference schedule is brutal.

I would love to be the guy who makes or breaks the play... the guy who protects the QB... opens holes for the running game... blocks for the passing assault... and is only heard about when he screws up.
Let me be the silent, unpenetrable force that makes the offense successful... that would be me.
Can I be All-Madden while I'm at it... give me the ball so I can be recipient of John's quote from "The Replacements"... "I love it when a fat guy can score!!" (Best part of the movie) :D

I'd first like to thank those of you who took the time to respond to my post. 1st & formost is my reason for coming here. It seems as if quite a few Tampa fans have taken the liberty of coming to the Falcons board to see if they could trash it. Well, after a week or so of this and quite a few p/o'd Falcon fans later it's time for some payback. So, the only reason I'm here is because of the psychotic buc fans that came to our board and started talking --------. At least I am keeping my post to football, unlike the buc guys who came over & were talking about people's families & personal lives that they didn't know anything about.
Now, does anyone here deny the fact that your A-train has a problem with fumbling? It would be hard to deny, but I'm sure that several looking through the rose colored (or whatever you call the Bucs uniform color) glasses will totally deny that, but look objectively & you can't deny it. Not taking anything away from him, because he is an above average back in the NFL, but one of his weaknesses is holding the ball.

I would love to be either in Keyshawn's cleats, or John Lynch's. Not necessarily because they're two of the biggest playmakers on the team. They both give 110% on the field and off.
They are sideline and locker room motivators. Coaches in cleats, if you will.
And hey, the take home pay wouldn't be too shabby.
It would be great to be Jon Gruden for a game, too. To be the ultimate motivator. To have that fiery, passionate personality. He may burn his candle at both ends, but watch the results he gets.

Lemme get this straight. You want to dump the best DT in the NFL because he was mean and wouldn't give you an autograph? You know, you never see "autographs given" vs. "autographs attempted" in the stats. Know why? Cause it has nothing to do with football.
