well since 2005 is coming out oon. (yes i said soon. and i will kepp telling myself that.) and off season getting slow- ima tell most of my tips and tricks for madden franchising.

Lose Emotion- it only gets in the way. if a player is in his early 30's and u can see he has only 1 or 2 yrs left in him and hes still retated in the 90s. trade him. u can get a 1st rounder easy.**
dont keep players cuz their ur favs or freinds or been wiht u forever. it hurts.

trade picks day 1- the 1st day after preseason take a look at teams that have low stats and did bad in the preseason. trade ur 1st rounder for thiers. chances are ur ganna do better then them anyways. usually u can get these trades off.
URs-----other team
1st--------1st,2nd,3rd
2nd--------1st
sumtimes a lil more. this is great especially if the team u traded the 1- 123 picks for does the worst. that gets u the 1st pik in hte first 3 rounds.

Draft- a way to see if hte draft is really deep or just BS is look at it before it happeds. save in hte offseason then simulate till free agentcy. this take a bit of time so go to the bathrooom or make urself a sandwich. then come back and look. u can see the rookies ratings in the rosters. write down the best nfl protogies and wen they were picked. load up again and make sure u get ur hands on those pick or sooner. then wen draft tiem comes around get those players. u get great young talent. sumtimes u might not get exactly wat u wanted ( he was 84 in the simulation but 83 wen u drafted him) but itll be real real close. great for deep pool drafts.

Draft Suxs- if u sim and see that their no real talent in teh draft this yr then dont bother. use ur pik to trade off for young talent off the bat. the computer is a suck for 1st rounders. so if u did hte previous tips and foudn the draft is shallow then use the 1st roudners u should have and trade for good young talent. its great.

Cap Penalties- u must always look at teh long run. i think i am a cap guru. but thats just me. i say sacrafice a bit every year. every year i get about around 4 mill (7 max) in cap penalty for next yr. sure that sound pretty bad but if u keep it around 3-5 its not. it usually gets u great players thatll serve u for years to come. if u play it too cap safe u wont get anywhere.

Keep it Young- use ur veteran players as bargaining chips wen the time comes. i usually trade off my vets wen they reach thier 30s. wen i can tell they have a only 1-3 more yrs left in them. once they hit 30 or 31 that tells me trade. y? becuase ull still get sumthing great for them. great young talent thatll serve u for the futre. or is anything a 1st rounder. its great to trade a player off and see him on the retirement the next yr. it shows u have great timeing and did a great move.

**1st rounders- if the draft is shallow or u have a vet thats still looks good use the 1st rouner. the comp is a sucker for them and give it more credit then its worth. at teh very least it make a GREAT bargainin chip.

BACKUP!- remember to backup ur franchise every now and then on to another memory card now and then. there is no worst feeling then seeing Franchise- Currupt. its an awful feeling. its happen to me once- but i had a backup :).
its good to backup every 2 offseasons or so.

give ur own tips or critize mine.... have fun!

Saving before, then watching the draft, and reloading to pick the best players is not a tip...more of a cheat. Ever since you could save games, people have done that. I believe the draft is set after the Super Bowl. So you can get a new draft by saving before the Super Bowl, then going through everything to see the draft. Long process, and not worth it in my opinion. Takes too much away because in the end, it's cheating.

I backup on the same memory card. But everytime I save, I save it twice! That way if when loading or saving the power goes out I will always have the other one.

Yeah, the draft thing takes the point of the draft right out of it. IN reality coaches can't do that, why would u? That's pretty lame if ya ask me. And about the cap penalties, i rarely have more than 2 million, usually around 300k, and I do great in franchise. so you can make it work.

or just be the Baltimore Ravens. That is the easiest franchise to run. You are so far under the cap at the start of the season, and u have good assets as the beginning as well.

You have a young QB in Kyle Boller.
You have a young RB in Jamal Lewis
Your wrs are ***.
Got a great TE in Heap.

The O line is good.
The D line is bad.

Linebackers are great. And Secondary is great.

A very young team as well.
