What, in your idea, is the best Football video game ever?

I like ESPN Football and the tackling aspects of it...whats yours?

Joe Montana's Sportstalk Football for the Sega Genesis. I rocked at that and it was one of the first to feature actual speaking commentary during gameplay.

Come to think of it, the guy's voice sounded an awful lot like Gene Deckerhoff. Hmmm... gonna have to check that out.

Madden 2004 is currently the greatest football game ever. In just about 3 months it will be madden 2005. I've played both and feel without a doubt that madden is better. I did love the old tecmo bowl game on nintendo though.....ahhh memories.

My opinion and millions of others opinions. Madden will continue to dominate in sales despite anybodys opinion. Madden owns espn football. ESPN is hardly a threat. I'm not going to get in an argument over which is better so I'll simply say which game sold more copies?

I definetly agree. Madden 04 hands down, the best game out there. Sure ESPN has some other good aspects of it, but I love Franchise mode and Madden has the best one with most aspects of it.

Do you not believe that a lot of espn lovers have not played Madden? I personally know a bunch of people who refuse to play Madden and just will say that espn is better. One magazine's rating of a game means nothing. I wonder if you got all of the magazine's ratings together who would get the most of the higher ratings. The only thing that matters is that everybody is satisfied with their game they choose. I know I am happy with mine. Seems like more people enjoy Madden than espn football based on sales, and trust me that is all that matters to these companies....sales. I've seen the list of all the changes and improvements to Madden 2005, and unless espn is doing something comparable to it.....I don't think it will be as close as they are hoping/predicting.

The best football game to date wasn't madden '04 and it wasn't ESPN '04 either. It was NCAA Football 2004. It's published by EA but it isn't made by Tiburon, like Madden ( I forget which production company makes it). It's the best of both madden and ESPN wrapped up in a College football game.

NCAA 2004 gets my vote too. I bought Madden and ESPN this year. Both made a return trip to EB.

I remember when Tecmo bowl came out. I used to play it until my mother would unlugg it and tell me to get some sleep for school. this at 3am.
Madden is definately the best football game ever made. I have both and just have not had the time to take ESPN back.
