No, Playmaker control will not be added to NCAA '05. If you haven't already noticed, NCAA hasn't been a re-done Madden since 2002. This years addition further seperates the two games. NCAA is also made by a different developement team, while Madden is made by Tiburon. The NCAA team has said that it wants to seperate itself from the Madden franchise and with last years version and pending this years version its evident that they are doing just that. ;)

That's a good idea to make them somewhat different.
Why would you want a college game and an NFL game that are pretty much the same?

i've read a lot of conflicting release dates ... any idea when to actually expect the game? i've heard EA releases games early sometimes, like over the weekend before the actual date. any truth to that?

I heard Monday, which would be great.

I think they should hold off on the release date...
Historically, Madden has released their games sooner than ESPN, and historically, Maddens rosters have been WAY off, and ESPNs have been closer, but still off.
EDIT- yes, I realise this is an NCAA 2005 thread....

If you put $5 down tomorrow, you can have it by Monday night from EB. Otherwise, you have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday.

By the way, you can buy a memory card on eBay that has all of the rosters for NCAA 2005 on it. This way you can actually have the players names on the games. It costs between $20 and $30.

Or you can go here:
www.ncaarosters.com
And get it for free (mail the guy your memory card).

I hope that everyone that gets a roster from him will give him a donation. He's putting in alot of work and isn't even making any money.

Thats rediculous just ask a friend that has a memory card and ask some1 who has PS2 internet or Xbox Live thats where you can download the rosters from very easily.

LOL...it's really not that hard to add all the names yourself.
I did it for 03' for most of the teams (not all) and it did'nt take that long. Maybe 5-10 mins for each team, you do maybe 30 teams...it takes about an hour and a half. No big deal.

Where's all the rosters though? IS there a site or do you have to find each on individually?

I bought an Athlon or Sporting News NCAA magazine. The thick ones that are like $7. They usually list all the rosters w/ the players # so you know who's who.
That's where I got all my names from.
They won't have EVERY player on EVERY team. But they will list most of them.
I mean, even if you still had to go on the net to look ALL of them up, it'still probably easier to do it yourself than mail it to someone.
I plan on doing the same thing for 05'. It really does'nt take that long. Once you get going, you'll be surprised how fast it goes, atleast I was.

There's a PS2 one available off of http://www.maddennation.com already. (If you have a max drive or an action replay) I believe the guy who usually does the xbox one is still working on it. By the way, seriously cool game.

Sweet...are the graphics any better/different?
There was a big improvement from 03' to 04'...I've got to expect the same with 05'.

I wish I could tell you. However, I just bought a PS2 about six months or so ago, so this is the first time in about a decade that I've played an EA NCAA football game. I will say that's it's impressively different than Madden. :D (Which I've played annually on my computer.)

GASP...just bought a PS2 6 months ago??? JFWY.
The NCAA series is one of my favorite games. Not sure if you know but you can transfer the draft class from NCAA to Madden through your memory card.;)

I got it last night.
It's sweet.
I have one small problem though, when you're in dynasty mode and it's simulating games or processing something...is it really slow? I don't know if it's my PS2 (it's had a hard life) or the game is just really slow...but it takes forever.
