Quick question, is there no way to turn off the salary cap...
I would simply like to play Franchise Mode, but I am not cap genius...

There is. However I am not sure if you can after the franchise has already started. I do know that when you first start the franchise one of the options along with First Person Mode and Weekly Prep is the Salary Cap. Let me know if you need any help or have any further questions.

The Bucs don't start off with much cap room anyway, which really sucks. Some of the contracts, such as Russell's are bigger than they should have been, especially with penalties being so high.
I made two moves before my season started:
McCardell for DeAngelo Hall and a 5th
and
Pittman and a 4th for Kevin Jones
This left me with 57k in cap space, lol.
