The market is so unrealistic.

These are some trades I managed to pull off

RB L.T for CB R. Barber

WR T.O for DE John Abraham

MLB R. Lewis for QB M. Bulger

TE T. Gonzalez for MLB Zach Thomas

but this one takes the biscuit

QB C. Palmer for QB B. Johnson

I'm not saying that it's perfect or anything, but dont forget that those trades are affected by injuries, younger upcoming players (all positions are extremely easy to build if you know how to do it, also don't forget that O and D schemes play into players to an extent now), and how that player and others on either team have done in recent years.

So basically what i'm saying is that for us to have a better understanding of how those trades were going down, we'de need: a full injury report for each team, who they've recently drafted, what type of O and D scheme they are using, what their moral is, if they have a first year coach/coaching staff or not, and how the rest of their team did last year.

By the way, of course the Buccaneers would accept a trade proposal from the Chargers if they were dumb enough to try to trade LT for Barber.. That's just a dumb executive decision on the owners part.. The same can be said for all but the last trade.

When it comes to the B. Johnson for Palmer trade, if Palmer just had a horrible year etc, and B. Johnson was coming off a stellar year which in addition could be teamed up with a Probowl appearance, SB Win, MVP awards in any category, etc.. Of course they would trade Palmer, most teams on madden are looking for that direct impact, or at least it is easy if you look at it that way sometimes.

Does that clear some things up for you?

They were the other way round I recived the first player and gave them the second player. So I got L.T and they got Barber

Unless LT just got some very serious injury, has become very injury prone, or benched in favor of another RB, I don't believe this trade was pulled off without you giving up draft picks for him.

In ESPN, the Giants traded Strahan for LT. Maybe game developers decided to make the Chargers FO more realistic.

I just finished my frnachise. The bucs won 21 Superbowls in 23 appearances. Kep RayJay for 20years. Made almost a billion dollars. Its all about knowing how to draft. Del Rio was my head coach, Martrz later Warner the OC and Belichik and later Derrick Brooks was my DC

Ian Gold also played 21 seasons...imagine that?

In ESPN I saw Strahan traded for Edgerrin James in 2007. This suprised me so I went and looked at the rosters for the teams. Colts traded James because they picked up Duece McCallister up in FA and the Giants had a rookie that was only 2 points behind Strahan who is like his 13th or so season then. So both teams got a good deal.

On the trading block on ESPN, I put up B. Leftwich and suggested that I want a WR with an 80+ rating and I got 2 offers.

D. Gabriel or D. White. I instead traded my current 4th and next years 2nd and 3rd for M. Clayton to join, Boldin, Fitz, and K. Robinson

In a different team I had I traded a first rounder for LaDanian and he retired after 7 seasons. I talked him out of retirmentand signed him to a 1 year deal. After preseason I traded him for some no name guy that was on the Giants bench ranked a 84. He turned out to be ok but nothing great. He had speed but NO hands at all. If it was breezy enough he would fumble.

You can also offer your 1st round pick for a 1st round pick and all teams will accept. So if you are 5-0 you can swap 1sts with a 0-5 team. Do this right before the trade deadline so you can see who is bad. This also works with all rounds. I never pick 32nd. And if I guess right on which team is the worst, I get the first pick

Dang it, someone figured out my trade my 5-0 first pick for an 0-5 1,2 and 4 rounders. Then my 2 for 2, 3, 5. So on. I've thought about telling them about this but I really like having all those picks to work with.

Its really hard to trade a good player for a high pick though. I should try trading to the Dolphins and see if their GM is as bad in the game as in real life. I can't get over a 2nd round pick (which could be the first in the 2nd round making it for all intesive purposes a 1st rounder) for AJ Feeley.

I do the draft pick trade quite often...it is so easy to get good picks and then some. Often, you can have a good start, and trade your first to a bottom team for like a first and a second :tongueret

I also trade away old players for younger players. After my first year, I managed to trade Garner to the Vikings for Onterrio Smith....Garner retired at the end of the next season, and Smith got over 2000 all purpose yards :tongueret
During my first year, I also traded Dilger and some draft picks to the Bears for their TE Desmond Clark...so I get a younger, quicker receiving TE...and Dilger retired at the end of the next year :biggrinre

It is fun exploiting it like that :smileretr

I'd quite like to see them introduce a trade block where you can go to a team and say I want X and they tell you what they want in return or to get lost. Save you wasting time trying to put trades together.
I'll definitely be trying that trade picks tip.

They have that in ESPN 2k5.

On the trade block you pick what player or draft pick you want to put up ont the block and then you can add what position you want in return and what ranking you want.

If you need help with your cap, do the following to your high paid players. Go to player info, change their position "i.e. Simeon rice, change him to a QB so his overall goes down to a 17" then release him. Then resign him for 7 years $300,000, and change him back to his normal position. I got bored and found out about this glitch...LOL

Don't they just hold out next year or the year after? Plus what about all that signing bonus?

Thats the easy way around it. What fun is that? the Challange of keeping a solid team and staying under the cap is most the fun of the whole thing
