These are weird things about Madden:
Sometimes my running back will stop at the line for some reason. His legs move but he doesn't go anywhere.

Once the computer kicked a good field goal and there was holding on my team and the computer accepted it. That meant it had the kick the field goal again even though it was good the first time.

Whenever a QB has a bad game I drop him and he in the paper the next week moaning about not playing. So you put him back in and that guyt on the radio talk about how he a poor QB.

Once in had two punters so I dropped the weaker one and the next week the paper has a report on this saying "what was he thinking?”

Sometimes in the last two min the clock stops even after running plays.

Once I punted out of bounds inside the 1 and the caption "touchback" came up. I even checked the replay and it clearly went out at the 1.

And somethings I think need to be improved in the next game:
The refs on Madden don't seem to know the tuck rule.

Whenever I try to tackle my guy will just drive aimlessly at thin air.

My guy almost always fumbles when returning punts.

I can never stip the ball and whenever I try I always miss the tackle.

Why can't you challenge after consulting the replay.

It great they have squib kicks now but they always go out of bounds.

The fumbles on punt returns really suck...!

I hate the fumble on the punt returns. It is impossible to return a punt when anyone is in with 5 yards of your player. Also I hate when some players complain. For example I have a drafted rookie RB who is up to a 94 and Pittman is a 82 and says he wants to start, I just don't get it. I mean I could understand if pittman was like a 90 but my other RB is 12 points higher. I also think that is so stupid that you can't challenge a call after you watch the replay. I think that next year that they should let you go to through the play once in slow motion and not allow you to rewind it or something. If they fixed some of those little problems the game would be a lot better.

Fumbling on punt returns?
I was too, but realized it for what it was, and adjusted. Now I call fair catch if anyone will be too close to return it more than a couple yards. You CAN return it if they're not right on you, but make sure they don't get a good hit on you. Start running sideways away from them, then forward. I still don't get many yards unless that first guy misses.

Punting out of bounds at the 1, being called a touchback-
This is another example of the game dictating one thing, and the graphics showing another. I just had a game with a catch that CLEARLY was only one foot in. I challenged, and it was still called a catch. It goes by fast, so it's hard to tell, so after losing the challenge, I checked the replay. Showed still that his foot was out of bounds. But that is just the graphics not agreeing with the game. I understand that it's hard to make the graphics exact to the frame, which is what we're expecting.

I've done squib kicks that stay in-bounds. Don't kick full power, and get the accuracy dead-on. If the ball hits before the returner, I've had them run backwards to pick it up, and get downed inside the 15. But I've had many more that go out of bounds, or returned to the 40. The point of it is to get the clock started early, so kick it with less power than normal, and try making one of the less capable players pick it up.

I dont play Madden because I like the 2k series better but I have talked to friends and they all have the same problem. One of them said he saw on the internet that EA admitted it is an issue and will work on it

I like the punt returns. If a returner in the NFL didn't call a fair catch when someone was close then he would fumble also. Bring back one of your linebackers, that would be rushing, before the snap. When you see where the punt will land run him over close then change to the returner and he will block the closest coverman and allow you to break a few more yards. I don't like the running backs cuts. It looks like they are riding a bicycle they lean over so far. As for grumbleing players. You have 2 choices. If they don't figure in your future plans then trade their azz. If they do figure in your plans then go to substituions and put that player in one formation. Always use that formation on the first play of the game so they are technically the starter. It seems to calm them down and stop the grumbleing.

I dont really have any problems with the fumbling on returns. It works both ways though, if my opponent doesnt fair catch it, I nail him perfectly and he usually fumbles.
One thing that i cant stand, same as last year. Training camp: Why cant we just choose which level we start with? I cant stand going thru all the rookie and pro levels for everything. I would prefer just to start on all madden level and save myself the 30 minutes it takes to go thru training camp.

A. Does the kickoff count?
B. How good, generally, do you think Brad Johnson and Tim Brown would be on kickoff coverage?

Same problem here in regards to the punt returns. However, I started to move my ROLB back to cover the punt, and it works well. I've only fumbled once or twice out of like 25 punts.

One problem I've had is that I try to call a fair catch, but if you call it too late it doesn't work, but you can't really tell how far away the coverage team will be until it is too late to call a fair catch. So sometimes I call it early and the coverage team ends up being 10 yards away, and sometimes I wait too long to call a fair catch and it doesn't work, then I fumble.

I never use trainning camp it's pointless. All that work for the sake of one or two points for one player. A better way to do it would be for the computer to award points at the end of the season based on there stats. Like if a WR has 1000 yard receiving he get 5 extra points as a reward.

2k5 has a similar problem. It will look like the coverage is about 30 yards away so no need for a fair catch but then you are about to catch and there are 10 guys around you and you cant call a fair catch and if you move your player you will get pinned deep in your own end

Your players improve every 4 or 5 games if they are doing good.

The best way to impove aplayer is to play a few games and pad his stats. Like I take a WR that's a 75 and throw to him a bunch and get hi a few 200 yard games, he'll improve a lot.

Yeah I have Fitzgerald, Boldin and Clayton and I have gotten them all up to 88. I ahve Edge James as my Running Back and I got him 10 points on the season. I averages 200 ruching yards and 3 TDS rushing a game with him. Once the lead was big enough I put Staley in so his ranking wouldnt decrease.

200 yards receiving!??!

I just got Taco Wallace 19 receptions for 300+ yards and 6 TDs. I'm building him up to take over for Koren Robinson who I am going to trade, because I can't stand him, even in a video game....

I think I may have a solution to the Punt problem. Always attempt a punt block and they will go into a protect formation. If the punts a good one then there's no gunners near you. If it's shallow well you'd need to fair catch anyway. Just did it for a whole game and they went to the protect every time. Just make sure and hit the protect ball button when you finally get near a tackler.
